Hey, I've got a sawbuck to kick in if you want to buy it. $5.5 milAs an extra added attraction, the area has it's own Bagdad The saloon suggests dance hall girls. You game? Have to sell a lot of chili, tortillas and drinks to meet those mortgage payments. jwhop IP: Logged |

Well, between your "coin collection" and my saw buck, I think we're going to come up a little short of the $5.5 mil asking price. Any other adventurous souls out there want to "invest"? All the bar stools in the bar are saddles according to the remarks posted on this property so sure barn boots are OK---just add spurs and you're in business. jwhop IP: Logged |

I've been there. It is on the way to Apache Lake. We go there 4-5 times a year - my family and I. we do alot of hiking around the canyon surrounding the lake. Most people can't find the lake because the asphalt road ends where the dirt road to the lake begins, so they head out to Roosevelt lake. They have a cute little gift shop and great ice cream at the general store in Tortilla flats. I will take a pic next time I'm there with my dad and bro and post it hee hee IP: Logged |

Hehe Did I mention I want to be in charge of costumes? Well, we're getting closer to owning a town Hmmm, no I "didn't know" the origins of the word sawbuck. Only that it's a ten spot and a double sawbuck is $20. But, it's an interesting question, so I looked it up and-----: Sawbuck Ten dollar bills used to have two large roman numeral tens ("X") on their reverse side. This resembled the scaffold for a sawbuck or sawhorse. The term dates to 1850. The term is etymologically unrelated to buck, meaning a dollar, although the two undoubtedly influenced one another. jwhop IP: Logged |

jwhop Lordy you`re a sharp one Can`t get nothing past you. Now ol Stuttering Mel clains it came from his tune "Sawmill" (I recall the Grateful Dead did it as well ) Shucks and I believed him Sawmill Once I was a slave at the sawmill Talk about a poor boy, talk about a poor boy Let me have a dollar bill My work was so hard at the sawmill Talk about a poor boy, talk about a poor boy Let me have a dollar bill See my teardrops falling down my wife left this sawmill town She said sawmill's life had been a sin The gravy were much too thin I can't work no more at the sawmill Talk about a poor boy, talk about a poor boy Let me have a dollar bill
If you take your wife to the sawmill How you gonna please her, how you gonna please her When she wants a dollar bill She'll run away and leave you at the sawmill Women like a dollar, women like a dollar. Yes and women always will. See my teardrops falling down my wife left this sawmill town She said sawmill's life had been a sin The gravy were much too thin. I can't work no more at the sawmill Yes and women like a dollar, yes and women like a dollar Yes and women always will

Hey, don't look now pixelpixie but the University of Tortilla Flats has just conferred a degree on you. It's a BS in Police Science. Carry a big stick? You sure you wouldn't rather charm them into submission Well, chaps seem a little skimpy for a uniform, but if you're sure--- As for the shiny silver star, sure why not but are you sure one is enough? Of course, the Mayor will have to convene the Tortilla Flats City Council to make it official. Some things never change, huh But speaking as a citizen, if that's your plan, you've got my vote. jwhop IP: Logged |

holy tortilla snacks Batman! how in the world does someone get to sell a whole TOWN??? i think a nook nestled in the "Mysterious superstition mountains" would be the perfect spot for lindaland - better that than Disney buys it up and turns it into another rodeo theme park! so i have a few old comic books i can hock for the cause, and i guess i can do a dance hall routine or two to rake in a few more dineros. would i have to wear those big frightening frilly bloomer thingies? (or is the whole point of dance hall girls that they don't wear those frilly bloomer thingies?:laughing can we sell Purple Plates in the General Store? hey jw, you gave me a good laugh with your post about Funk & Wagnalls - brought back a long-forgotten memory. In the fifth grade I had this social studies teacher who didn't really like kids, so whenever someone asked a silly questions he'd snarl, "Go look it up in your Funk & Wagnalls" and we'd all be on the floor laughing (fifth grade, remember) becasue "Funk & Wagnalls" said quickly makes the "Funk &" part sound like a naughty word. Oh, to be young and ridiculous again!

Hear!! Hear!!! I hereby announce the appointment of Pidaua as our Illustrious Recreation Manager!!! Hip-Hip-Hooray!!!As Mayor of this town, I deem it fitting and necessary to have Mule Train Tours in our new Recreation Department. Can we buy Mules on ebay? Juni....it is your duty as Animal Trainer and Keeper, of Tortilla Flats, to procure the Mules. Please co-ordinate with the newly appointed Recreational Manager.Of course, you must not forget your duties as Dancehall girl and Saloon keeper in lieu of looking for Mules!! I think JWHop should be voted as Housing Authority....what do you all think? Since Pixelpixie is the newly appointed Sheriff of TF, I recommend that she deputizes a possee, with Randall being chosen as #1. Whew!! Do I sound like a bureaucratic Mayor or what? ------------------ Hugs,LTD ~~The struggle keeps us young~~Daring to make mistakes and knowing there are none.~~DGM IP: Logged |

Hehe, you've all been busy today I see. Just about got it all worked out.Who's in favor of asking Randall to make them a no money down offer with deferred or low payments? Hate to see the Mayor get pinched on a hot check charge Hey Pidaua, love your idea of the feathered head dress and leather boots. Thought everyone was dancing, except the guys of course. Don't think those miners and ranchers would pay much for that. Housing Authority LTD? Hey Randall, I hope some land comes with Tortilla Flats. Well LTD, looks like Mayoring comes natural to you Yeah Xelena, first time I ever heard "Funk and Wagnall" was from the Laugh In show. Thought it was a gag line. 5th grade---fun times, long ago and far away. jwhop

(She was the Apache healer / dreamer and certified horse stealer..LOL)jwhop, Okay, I'll dance..but it will have to be my own style so that I don't mess my hair or head dress....and you have to dance with me. Juni, will be the perfect animal trainer and keeper!!!!! How about Harpyr for the designated food grower and coordinator (she has a way with organics) Juni can plant some beautiful flowers around the town. Hey, I'll be going out there the end of January and will scope out the scene for us. LOL.... You all are a kick!!!! IP: Logged |

I vote YES...to Randall being the Ambassador of Low to No Monthly payments!!!Harpyr is hereby in charge of the food stuffs, crops and the Community Chuck Wagon. Who is good at sewing? We need someone to make Harpyr a great big chef hat and apron, as well as a gardening hat. Volunteers please. Well, I think guys should dance once a month on "Girl's Nite"....g-strings, chaps and cowboy hats....nice! Oh, and don't forget the boots...wouldn't want their feet to get splinters!!! We might make Tortilla Flats a rockin' little community. P.S. Pidaua....do a search on Google for Mules....ebay would probably give you a better price. Of course, mule theft would be the cheapest route!!! ------------------ Hugs,LTD ~~The struggle keeps us young~~Daring to make mistakes and knowing there are none.~~DGM IP: Logged |
