An earthquake of about 6.5 magnitude struck the city of Bam in Southeast Iran on Friday morning around 5:30am local time. There are an estimated 20,000 dead with fears that number could double to 40,000

It is indeed a sad time for the Iranians

I was encouraged by the outpouring of help from most of the world.

Perhaps this awful quake can bring a harmony where politics has failed!

The news stated they are giving up looking for survivors. My deepest sympathy and prayers to the Iranian people
