Argh. I'm having a really cow-feeling day today. I've gained 12 lbs so far in the pregnancy - I know that that's not all that much, but I was 5'9'' and 128...I FEEL HUGE!*waddles off* IP: Logged |

Dude, I gained 38 fricken pounds with my daughter! But, by the time she was 18 months old I had my 26 inch waist line back. Breast feeding helps burn it off alot quicker. (although I only did that for the first 4 months)Don't worry, the cow-ishness is temporary. As long as your not a mad cow. IP: Logged |

Yeah, she should try it. You may have to be a substitute for the baby though, Lanny.IP: Logged |

Chubby chick weighing in. You're not a cow. You're a beautiful woman going through a natural process. Please don't let yourself be victimized by mass-marketers protecting billions of dollars by trying to create Stepford Wives of us all. Impossible of course, but that's the rub: makes them tons of money, telling us we have to look a certain way, dress in a certain style. Oh, I like nice clothes and make-up and all that stuff. But it took a long time, and a lot of DIEts, to reconcile myself to being a woman with curves. You're such an intelligent insightful woman prox...relax. Don't let anyone deny you the absolute gorgeous beauty of your belly, in which lies your even more gorgeous beauty of a baby. Your twelve pounds are a blessing. I hope this didn't come off poorly, I'm not trying to diminish your feelings. I just want to reassure you of the beauty of being a pregnant woman. IP: Logged |

Oh. BTW. Re: Stepford WivesIt's a book (and an upcoming movie) about men who grew tired of their wives "inadequacies," so the devised a way to create artificial wives who looked, talked, acted like their original wives. But the new improved models cooked, cleaned, never complained, never gained weight, etc. IP: Logged |

Trillian - Aw, naw - I'm not worried about the weight gain per se, it just that my stomach feels all tight and ready to explode from the force of the kiddo within & moving around's a whole new experience each day. Thank you for bucking me up, though
