Heya Heya All Ya'll - Wish me luck on my Drive Down to Southern Alabama I'm starting down today to go look at apartments in Daleville. Straight through, it's a 13 hour drive...but Jason has informed me that he'll have a major stroke if I do the drive in a day, so I'm going to split it up. I may stop off in southwestern NC to say, "Hola" to the NC Russells, or I may look for a hotel for one of those nights. Anyhoo, I'm looking forward to it. Jason's sure that I'm going to get into an accident, get pulled from the burning rubble of my car, and then proceed to get raped and murdered...but he worries...a lot. Where is that in his chart, anyway? I'm betting that it's spearheaded by the 6th House Taurus Moon. Oh, and I'll get to see Jase (a little bit) who's still sick and, as a result, failed his WOCS entry PT test (he can take it again in 2 weeks). I'll be back early next week. IP: Logged |

Have fun on your drive. You'll be driving through some of the most beautiful landscape in the US. Did you take a "Books on Tape" with you? I always take some, it makes traveling so much easier and relaxing. Tell Jason that you probally wouldn't get murdered. Love Ya Lanny IP: Logged |

Yeah, tell him that if anything does happen it will be his fault for imaging it into reality. Tell him to only image good things and that will be what happens And of course all of us here will image only good things for you. IP: Logged |

Thanks ya'll Your well wishes must've worked - I arrived down there and've gotten back w/o a scratch.*collapses from 13.5 hour drive* I did see a dead armadillo near Tuskeegee, though. I've never seen one before, so that was a highlight of the drive back. Re: books on tape: I couldn't. My CD's broken in my Jeep. Bah. Well, I now know of several very interesting radio stations - there's this one near Charlottesville (NC) that only has *an announcement of who they are *3 commercials in a row *4 classic rock songs in a row...no DJs, contests, etc. I cried when I got out of range. Both times. We found an apartment - $450/mo for 2 bedrooms, including water, sewer, trash (that's nuts to someone from my area...you're hardpressed to find a room for that up here). Oh, and we have a big purple couch from AAFES. We'll be moving down prolly this weekend And now I'm going to go to sleep. IP: Logged |

WOW!!! $450 a month? That is craaaaaazy good! As long as you are still internet connected, and can still visit here, I am so excited for you! ( I mean, I am excited either way, but you know what I mean!) A new stage, a new place to call home. This means that you and Jase will be together no matter what kind of training he is doing, right? And he will be more accessible to the impending arrival of your little girly bull. How exciting! Sleep well. Transitions are fabulous, good luck to you, and I know you will adjust with grace and fervour.IP: Logged |

oh, ok...Ignore my question in the 'natural childbirth' thread about how your apartment hunting went. I got the scoop here! That's really good, $450 per month. Why are you moving there? Because Jase is training there for a year or so? And where are you going to have Baby Bull? And what are you going to do with yourself so you don't flip out due to boredom? Do you know anyone there? No worries - we'll have cable internet $450/mo's actually pretty pricey for that area...it's a bit economically down. You don't realize how much so until you notice that every 2nd commercial is for debt consolidation or "no credit-check" loans. I don't know what that area would do without the Post there - it seems to fuel the bulk of the surrounding economy. Good Bar-B-Que, though. Yep, transistions are always interesting at the least. The kiddo'll be born at the Post hospital - about 1 1/2 miles from our apt. Jason won't be around for the next 6 weeks or so; no matter how close we are to one another, he'll be in residential Warrant training. If we go to the same church on Sunday, we're able to sit together...that's it. But after that he'll be able to move-in and drive into flight training each morning. For the time being, I'll just be unpacking and getting used to the area while taking childbirth and "new army wife" classes. That'll take...gah, I'm hoping a month (streeeetching it out). After that...nesting...going stir crazy...reading an insane amount. Ah, all's well, though - I'm not sure how much energy I'll have, anyway, and I may end-up on bedrest (my Mom was for all 3 of her kids for the last month of each pregnancy, and we were all still born 2 weeks early). I don't know a soul there, but that'll be remedied before long. IP: Logged |

Since ya'll's well-wishes worked so well last time, I thought I'd give it another shot I'm currently packing up muh earthly belongings to be put on a 14-foot U-Haul tomorrow &'ll be picking-up Jase at 5 PM that day from BWI. We'll then finish up with the truck and be ready to leave early Sunday (in part in order to get to the VA/NC line before that snow that they're calling for starts) for very southern Alabama. Soo... WISH US LUCK! (I'll have internet again by the 30th or so.) IP: Logged |

Nooo, not in 'Bama - they're calling for snow in the DC area on Sunday & we're trying to avoid that. Heeey, though, re: Fat Tuesday - have fun & be sure to fill us preggers LLrs in Re: AL: Me: I was going to clean out my car today, but it's 13 degrees outside. 13. Degrees. Jase: Ughyick. Me: What's the temp down there? Jase: You don't want to know... Me: Naw, I can take it... Jase: ... Me: I'm going to be down there in a couple of days - let me bask in the temperatures to come. Jase: About 60. Me: About 60? You suck. IP: Logged |
