Tonite it occurred to me that what I experience every night before I fall asleep is not experienced by everyone else. Ever since I was little, before I fall asleep, I see (although my eyes are closed) bright green rings in my side vision. I have hazel eyes, so I used to think it was the reflection of my eyeballs (as a kid, lol), but has anyone experience anything like this or have any idea what this is? I have 20/20 vision by the way, but poor night vision. IP: Logged |

Purplezen~ I cannot coment on your particular vision, as it could even be a medically important thing, so, having a practical side, howz about next time you see your doctor, you bring it up, just in case?! Having said that, does it give you a sense of peace, or is it troubling? If you concentrate on it, within it, do you see things? Does it happen nightly, if you remember?Ever since i was little, I too, have had interesting things happen before falling asleep. It is a quiet time both externally and internally ( one hopes) so naturally, you are more in tune with things, as you wind down. I used to have an overwhelming feeling of vertigo, followed by these large, pulsating forms, who would either feel like they were going into me, very fast, or away... it was hard to tell which. It scared me, for a long time, when it happened, as it felt beyond my control, and it was, in fact. It felt like they were speeding away/at me, and I couldn't tell which, and it would change form yet not, and be constantly moving, yet still. I realize this sounds wacky, and I don't think I have ever mentioned it, never having an outlet to express it. I still don't know what this means, whether it was a spiritual thing, or a psychic thing or even a medical condition. I have had it within the past year, even. Though not with as much frequency, and it doesn't scare me, just fascinates me, with it's familiarity. Maybe it is a waking manifestation of change, in my minds eye. Once, I dreamed, with lucid clarity, after this happened, that I was in a gladiator stadium, and these forms were fighting, it felt universal and important. It sound silly to write it, and I can't place the importance in it's proper context, as it doesn't make sense to the logical mind. But, thank you for sharing yours, so I could re-explore mine. I hope someone has some insights for you. The body and the mind are strange fruits.

Thanks for the input pixelpixie. To answer your questions, this occurrence is not troubling at all, it's "just there" and it does happen pretty much every night. I've never mentioned it to a dr because I thought it happened to everyone, lol. I am not worried about it or anything, just curious. Maybe it's a reflection of my aura or something?IP: Logged |

Hmm, I wonder if the vertigo was like the feeling you get before astral travelling out of your body? I used to get feelings like that, kind of dizzyness or floating, I wonder if it's similar. Also, I definately believe in astral travel I used to float around my room every night when I was young, it was quite normal for me and I've done it as an adult which was cool, I couldn't open the door and it took me a second to realise I wasn't in my body! Very true. Anyway, I used to see electric blue before I went to bed when I was about 12. I told the doctor but he didn't belive me. I was worried about my vision but he thought it was in my imagination. People convince you these things don't happen but they do. Love Baby Blu. IP: Logged |

I think I have astral traveled before too, because sometimes as I am falling asleep I get a sudden little "jolt" like I am falling. I remember my dreams very vividly as well, and I believe there is a connection there. I didnt know that vertigo means being dizzy, I often get dizzy too but I thought it was because I had low blood sugar. ( I sometimes bump into walls and things, lol.) IP: Logged | |
