I need to tell you guys what my lecturer said in class today as I feel I need to. We were reading through a section from the text book and we read this particular section in propaganda. However we were discussing about China's propaganda and somehow he mentions(and he even said "mark my words") that China ,when we,the students, are in our 50s, will become a Superpower as their natural resourses are abundant and untapped. It will overtake the USA as a Superpower.Quote "The USA will just be a nation" he said. That got me thinking might the USA be coming to an end soon in terms of been the father to the rest of the world?Or just a temporary step down to rest? What do you guys think?PLEASE REPLY.ps.I should have posted this down in GLOBAL UNITY but I think I will get more responses here. Yang, if I recall without referencing it, the Hopi also believe China will be an invading super power. I`ll see if I can find the prophesy. ------------------ If having a soul means being able to feel love and loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans. ~James Herriot IP: Logged |

This isn`t the one I`m looking for as it includes Africa, Islam and India but it`s a fairly good overview. http://www.xpeditionsmagazine.com/magazine/articles/Native/Hopi.html ------------------ If having a soul means being able to feel love and loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans. ~James Herriot IP: Logged |

You might want to take a look at today's edition of USA Today, there's a big article on the progress of China...and the downfalls of becoming Westernized (alcoholism, inflation, obesity, etc). If you can't get a copy of the paper, you can probably read the article on their website, usatoday.comPersonally, I'm not fond of prophesies. They imply that life is static and pre-determined, whereas I believe that while there may be some indicators, or probabilities, that life writes itself as it goes. Change and choice are always possible. Your teacher has studied the subject, of course. But it's still his opinion, albeit a possibly well-educated one. I am unfortunately not up on my history of China, I'm sure there are those here who are, but if memory serves, China faced devastating over-population, and is starting to feel the repercussions of their Family Planning Policy, which basically allows couples to have only one child. Couples having more than one face penalties. Now, I read an article about this over a year ago, which purported grave consequences. Male babies were favored over female babies, and it was not uncommon, if the first born was female, that she was given up. The repercussions are a vastly unbalanced population. Apologies if my memory is faulty. On what does your lecturer base his allegations? A claim without back-up is just an opinion. IP: Logged |

I have been doing my own personal research on this also, and yes, I believe China is the country to watch out for.I had a wonderful 6 hour conversation with a "friend of a friend" who is being courted by the CIA. We had a vigorous discussion about the theories behind the rise of China. My theories have nothing to do with prophecies, either. I can't possibly recap the discourse in the short amount of time alotted to me for internet usage, but some salient points... A) Communism fits very well with the cultural/historical foundation of Chinese society. B) They are well on their way to becoming THE economic superpower. C) Yes, their concept of Family Planning is abominable....but also gives them unlimited manpower for an army. I can't possibly outline all the background on this subject. Do some research!! Its absolutely fascinating.. BTW.....did you all know that the Chinese government is paying school districts in the US to teach Chinese? Isn't that neat? Happy Trails......... MK IP: Logged |

Yeah, neato. China is a sleeping dragon, just beginning to stir. If they are the hub of the east and we are the hub of the west I suppose it's inevitable we meet. "oh east is east and west is west and never the twain shall meet, till earth and sky stand presently at God's great judgement seat" Sorry, always comes to mind when I think about China. My Marine brother-in-law, his Marine brother and all their little Marine friends are in complete agreement about the future threat of China. All the pieces fit. But I have some rather nasty old memories of China concerning my fingernails and the soles of my feet so maybe I biased. IP: Logged |

I saw this and had to say something. I am totally freaked out about this because as a child I had recurring dreams about China invading the US and I was running through the woods to get away from the Chinesse soilders that were trying to round us up and imprision us. Even now I have dreams about this and have feared for a long time about China as a world super-power.Tink- This has come up with my husband and his buddies who are all active duty Marines too. What's this about your fingernails and feet? IP: Logged |

Hate to say it, but...this is not the first I've heard of this. And China is powerful in numbers, and they are not a nation or a military of "What about me?!" people. They belong to the machine, and their sense of honor is strong. If they decide the US needs to be 'put in check'....look out. (Canada is nice this time of year, btw...prox...pid...juni...peeps ) IP: Logged |

This is a very provocative subject...a quick google search affords all sorts of propoganda, and I do mean propoganda. But if interested, take a look... http://www.tribulationalinstitute.com/China%20In%20Prophecy%201.htm http://www.prophecynewswatch.com/emailsample.html There's tons of stuff that might be interesting. Juni, I read that article with interest...but...I can't get past the Hopi believing they are the "Chosen." I just can't accept that any particular people are more chosen than any others... Would love to hear more thoughtful opinions on this, w/o any global dis-harmony. jwhop? IP: Logged |

Historically speaking, all superpowers eventually fade and are replaced with others. Greece, Egypt, Rome, The Holy Roman Empire (which was neither actually Roman nor very holy), Great Britain, etc, all were superpowers in their time. If there is one undeniable thread that years of research into History and Archaeology have taugh me, it is that change is a constant. Whether in our lifetime or many lifetimes down the road, the balance of power will change. It always does.IP: Logged |

Thank you all for replying. Juni-I read the article you suggested and it quite some hectic stuff there.By the way WHO ARE THE RED RACE?Are they the Russians?Trillian- I should have mentioned before that the course my lecturer takes is OPINION AND SPECIALIST WRITING.So it was based on his opinion. But I think some of his basis was the natural resources I mentioned. We will all have to wait and see what the future holds for us humans!hey? IP: Logged |

Hi Yang, I don`t know who. It`s been said Chinese as well as Russia. I put in the prophsey to indicate that the thinking goes back quite a long ways and not just based on todays sad facts . Yes Trillian, the 'chosen' race is always a deterrent to accepting their information as completely factual . Only time as we k-now it will tell. juniperb ------------------ If having a soul means being able to feel love and loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans. ~James Herriot IP: Logged |
