Ditto Juni. As I read your post, the immediate message I got was "All will be Well." I already know what a determined man he is, to forge such a different path from that of his strong mother. And that is a testament to your mothering skills, dear FK. He will find everything he needs. You are both in my thoughts and I will continue to send healing light for you both. IP: Logged |

Thanks again everyone. I hope you all know how much your love and caring have helped. Juni and Trillian...thanks. I also think he will recover fully and blow the doctors' socks off. He is very strong. I can't describe how much it hurt to hear his voice crack on the phone when he said he might never be able to play music again. It has been almost 5 days and I still cry every time I think about it. Dave is such a sweet person. If you can imagine a 6 foot tall, lean, muscular man with hair the colour of warm honey and sea green eyes who stops after every rain storm to pick up worms off the sidewalk and put them back in the shade, you have Dave. He has the kindest heart of anyone I know. And you are right, Trillian, he is very determined. Thanks for the kind words about mothering. I did always encourage him to follow his own path, though I suspect he would have done so no matter what I thought. A couple of cool things about Dave: When he was very small (before school age) he always told me stories about when he was in Viet Nam and about the time he used to be a pirate. For the first five years of his life, he carried around a digging spoon and spent an inordinate amount of time digging for the treasure he hid long ago. He used to say that he left himself clues somewhere, but he couldn't remember where. He also insisted on dressing in jungle camoflage when he went outside, because the Viet Cong can't shoot you if they can't see you. No amount of discussion would convince him that particular danger was over for him. He still remembers a lot of that. When Pirates of the Carribean came out, he couldn't even go see it, and there was no way in heck he would go on the ride when we took him to Disneyland as a child. Strikes too close to home, he said. He also said pirates weren't really very romantic or glorious, mostly dirty and violent. A few years ago he told me that with his past lives, no wonder he was born to a peace-nick archaeologist. He figures he wanted one lifetime where he didn't go to war and had a chance of finding all the stuff he stashed over the years. I can't wait to get him home where he can heal. Last night as I was meditating, I heard a voice as clear as if someone were in the room with me. It said not to worry and that the days have arrived when we should all be together. I'm not sure exactly what that is supposed to mean, but there is always hope and my baby is coming home to a place where miracles happen on a regular basis. I will be content with that for now. Dave's left arm will be in an imobilizing cast for the next two months at least. After that we will know more about the use of his fingers. You will all know immediately when he picks up his guitar again. Thank you all again, sweet Knowflakes...Dave was in a much better frame of mind this morning and I know it has something to do with all the love and light you wonderful peeps are sending his way. I love you all! Linda would be proud. IP: Logged |

Your time is coming, Pix. I think children who are encouraged to see the magic and fun in life tend to keep that with them and become loving people. I'll bet you are a magical mom.IP: Logged |

Also, creative visualization is very helpful in healing injuries, especially of bones and muscles. Maybe this would help him recover more quickly. If he could do visualization exercises (well, actually they're very relaxing and not like exercise at all ) whenever possible and if other people could do this as well and direct the healing towards him, that could speed things up (it would also help with the pain if he is suffering from any). fishkitten I don't know how I missed this but better late than never, hopefully. Please know that my best thoughts and prayers are being sent for your son's complete recovery and the returning FULL use of his arm/hand. It's so true isn't it, that whatever the chronological age, a child is always our baby. When you get the chance, please post an update. Take care! IP: Logged |

Well Knowflakes...it is an official Lindaland miracle! Dave is home. He is healing so fast, the doctors are flabergasted. When they went in to do his final surgery last Thursday, they discovered that some of the tendons had already re-joined spontaneously. They didn't even have to do anything else. They said they had never seen anything like it. And get this...his fingers all work!!! Last night, as I sat on the deck watching the stars, he walked out with his guitar, said "This one is for you Mom" and played Blackbird. (Blackbird singing in the dead of night...heal these broken wings and learn to fly...all my life...we were only waiting for this moment to arise...) Of course, I cried...all tears of joy. They said he wouldn't be able to even try to move his fingers for two more months, but they didn't take into account the power of a big hearted young man kick started with Love and Light sent around the world by Knowflakes. Even with the cast holding his wrist and arm at a strange angle, it is obvious he will heal completely. Thak you all for your prayers and good wishes. They worked!IP: Logged |

I have just read the wonderful tale of your son's troubles, FishKitten. I call it a tale because it brought me to tears and it gave me inspiration. And it's wonderful because it ends happily. Congratulations on Dave's healing progress! IP: Logged |

My heart is soooo warm to hear this. ( And thank you for your earlier words about being a magical mom- at times, I do remember to keep it fun while it is real) That song is perfect.. and it brought tears to my eyes too. I can envision this. I am so glad he is home, I am so glad he 'spontaneously' healed. Positive vibrations from everyone, but mostly from the belief he has in himself, due to his mama. I am so pleased! Thank you for sharing this wonderful news! Music making, here we come! IP: Logged |

My first reaction was "yikes" And I'm sure you could understand why... FishKitten He sounds like a strong man, to be incapasitated like that will break hearts. I'm so glad to hear that he is doing well. Sounds like a wonderful kid, truely he does. I agree with Xelena Ben, after his "accendent," he'll know a thing or two more! I send my love and light as well. IP: Logged |
