Thank you all, for the love and light.
My mom said she saw him pass in her minds eye, as she was coming out of sleep..
She saw a pair of bright white shining 'hands' reaching for him, like 'C'mon! Let's go, what are you waiting for?' So He went into the light as soon as it happened. He was holding gramma's hand.

Yes, for those whoo have not read the entire thread, he passed this morning.
I thank you.

Pixie,
Its just part of the circle of life dear. It is sad, but hes going on to bigger and better things. Make sure he knows how much you love him and talk to him often if you can or just go sit with him and hold his hand. Kiss your grandma and offer to take some of the load. And tell your children wonderful storys about thier Great-grandpa.
You're in my prayers.

Your description of how your mother "saw" your grandfather's passing brought tears to my eyes. May it bring you comfort.

Love and prayers to you and your family.

Thank you all for the words of wisdom, hope and comfort.

I am a testament to waterproof makeup, this weekend has been a very 'awakening' one for me... Truly, with death comes rebirth. You can know someone is going, but until they actually leave this dimension, you can only speculate how it will feel. It has felt horrible, to know this lovely man is gone not only to me (physically) and mostly, my gramma and the family, but to the many MANY lives he touched. Unreal..... it is comforting to experience the many lives he touched through his own life. He is a shining example of love embodied.. not to say he didn't have his 'bad moments', he is not infallible. But he, because of his humanity, was so special and cherished. He brought so much here and will be so deeply missed by those he's left behind with a part of him in our hearts.

My aunt did an amazing job with the eulogy. She was wonderful.
I learned more about the man as the man, instead of the 'grampa'.
ah, I could go on and on.
Let's just say he inspired me to want to ddevote more of myself to my own family. No longer just going through the motions, trying to find meaning... I must make it meaningful. Embody it, truly be present.
I believe his passing was something more than in the spectrum of old age and cancer and sickness and death.....
It is a new lease for me, to try to be the precious gem I am named for. To live in his legacy. To be someone to be proud of.

Indeed, Aphrodite.
In fact, isn't that a Phoenix I see flying by?

Ahh.. Pixie, waterproof makeup, eh?

I miss my grampa too, I wish I was closer to him but we lived in different countries, and even when he was ill, he still took time to communicate as well as he could So Pixie, what you say I can relate to. It's an astounding realisation when you consider the greatness in someone's life, so makes it even more enhancing to celebrate it. It's a bit like the mad moment when you're a kid and realise that your parents were actually young once too!

I'm positive.. I Know, he's very proud to have you living in his legacy - and what's more living in your own legacy.

Chin up dear pixie, you have over 20 friends here from A to Y that are sending you love and I'm sure if a Z could turn up they would!

Yes pixiepixel

You will find yourself changed now. The fact that you are inspired by your grandfather is a wonderful testament of his life.

Don't be surprised if you sense his presence, whether it's a feeling you have or something more specific, like him speaking to you in your dreams, lights or other electrical items going on and off, or a sudden overwhelming scent that is associated with him.

And if none of these occur, remember that your grandfather is still never more than a thought away.

Take care.

Dear Pixie,
I'm the worst when it comes to trying to comfort someone...

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I'm so happy for you that you can feel his love for you inside your heart. I wish for you strength to get through this hard time.

Love,
Nackie
