Just reflecting on the simplest things.. today at work, a Carly Simon song came on.. "Jazz man" I THINK it was Carly Simon... sounded like her, anyway.... I thought immediately of that Simpsons episode, where Lisa sings that song for 'Bleeding Gums Murphy'. I thought of it for a good little while. Tonight, my son was watching a rerun of the Simpsons... guess which one?! I just wanted to record for posterity, the simple, silly things that happen, that remind you of the way things come together.... the little things, but still significant. Anyone have any stories? Little counts. IP: Logged |

I know exactly what you mean, happens to me constantly. I can't think of any specific instances at this point in time, but that's mostly because I'm so tired that the little "Reply" star on the screen seems like it's moving when I look at it out of the corner of my eye.Though I wanted to say *taps chest* I feel ya, sistah. Happens all the time I actually expect it. I was contemplating noting down all the random snippets that keep occuring to me, but stopped since my housemates keep giving me furtive worried glances. For example, hang one bit of washing up of mine next to the others and a bird will 'bless' it. I explain it's Universal Synchronicity - they think I'm bonkers I jest of cors! Something that happened last night though, BloodRedMoon had got me thinking of a book I read ages ago 'Chariots of the Gods', then I remembered a film cartoon called 'City of Gold' and wondered if there was a film called 'City of God' - it was a longer process. What did my housemate put on when we got back from work?! Has anyone seen that by the way - it's about gangland Peru.. such an intense, violent film, but very well put together and clever.. almost too believeable and they showed the real footage of this story afterwards Anyways.. gotta make tracks homeward. Will check in later, bloody starving

*I miss Special*I want to record another synchronistic happening for posterity. Feel free to add your own! Yesterday, I was talking to someone and I used the word "Intimated" Do you ever have those moments ( brain farts, as they are affectionately called) when you KNOW a word, but it eludes you? It just sounds wrong, even though it is right? That was what I had. I gave it much thought, rolling it over, trying to make sense of it, embarassed if I'd used it in the wrong context. Well, this morning before work, i thought it was important enough to look it up in my dictionary, but all I could find was my French/English dictionary.... anyway... I thought "oh well." and carried on. I picked up the novel I am currently reading, and when I got to the bottom of the page I was on, there was "intimated" used in the proper context, right there. So I had my answer. *and I had used it correctly.. * Neat. IP: Logged |

I know what you mean, Pix. Little, seemingly insignificant parallels, that are not particularly earth shattering, but they do make you go "That's so weird!" An example, just as I clicked into this forum, the song that was playing on the satelite music station was 'Sweet Home Alabama", and low and behold, I see Prox's thread about 'Alabama past life regressionists'. I guess it was just the state of Alabama's moment in the sun for me, at that moment. IP: Logged |

Yep and it happened to me just yesterday. A dear friend of mine and I had a play date before we both get off summer schedules and head back to work soon.It was hot as hades and raining so she suggested we stay in and rent movies (after we ate some really bang up chinese food!).I kinda didn't want to but said eh...anyway.I picked up a copy of the "Butterfly Effect" because the box just called to me.I decided on that one and she on "the Last Samurai" so since we couldn't decide we got both.We watched my movie first and I had just talked about "do you ever feel like this world is just a joke and that someone is watching you on a big screen somewhere?".Well the movie (most of it anyhow) related alot to my real life back when I was a teen so I was a bit blown away and I had to laugh at it.SO yeah.....I love it when that happens.Blessings....mavenIP: Logged |

Too funny! 2 hours after I posted a reply, I realized I had grossly misused a word I thought I knew the meaning of! It was in this forum. If you saw it, I'm not really that ignorant. I hurried back to edit it! Synchronocity is so much fun when you look for it! IP: Logged | |
