Well, it's official. We're giving up our house for an appartment. I'm sad and happy all at the same time.I love this house. I have been fighting with hubby for almost a year to keep it. It's too expensive for us at this time ... what with gas, water, garbage, increased electricity charges. The apartment we're moving into will save us nearly $700 a month. That's the happy part. I have a lot of anxiety when it comes to finances. I really freak out and panic over financial stress. This will be a good move for us, but I will miss this house SO much! We move in on Saturday. They're nice apartments. Only a few years old. They have a pool and a hot tub, free basic cable, a playground for the kids that I will be able to see from our apartment. I've got to get to work on setting up the utilities so everything is all set for us on Saturday. Ugh! I hate moving! IP: Logged |

Great news Librasparkle! Even though you'll miss your old house, I think the relief that you will be saving money by living in the apartment will be better for everyone. And it sounds really nice. Moving stinks. But sometimes change turns out better than you expected. And you get to decorate a new place!! Have fun! 26 IP: Logged |

Hi LibraSparkle, I used to live in a cute apartment with a roommate in Cascade Park (Vancouver, WA). It had a great work out center, basic cable, pool, sauna and free tanning beds- oh and a fire place. I really loved it!!! Then we found a place in Clackamas - HUGE apartment (right off Sunnyside) with the same amenities (this was back in 95 / 96) Apartment living has it's good and bad points. I am happy that you are feeling less stressed about the money situation- that is one hell of stress to go through. Take care and my thoughts are with you and your family. IP: Logged |

When you're done there, Pixie, come on over to Germany--I've got a few jobs you can take over!Libra, I hear you, moving sucks! We move in 2 weeks, and I'm still in the sorting (omg, I TOTALLY forgot I had that!) and tossing (no, my son, we are NOT keeping that train you got when you were two that only has one wheel left, is dirt encrusted and you haven't touched in four years!) stage. Can't seem to get past it. A work-out room? Free tanning beds? holy moly! The only free thing in our appartments is the air we breathe, and I'm sure we pay for that somehow too! lol Nackie IP: Logged |

*No warnings about my liver, please*I know Kava can be dangerous if taken too much. It's not something I use often... but something I LOVE to use IP: Logged |

Here's some pics of the new place. It's nice. I'm sure I'm going to like it there. We'll also be right across the street from a HUGE neighborhood park that is less than two years old That will be nice for the kiddos. It's about 1100 Sq. Ft. IP: Logged |

Well... I just packed up all my books, plants, and some knick knacks and moved them over to the new place. Hubby's working graveyard, so I'm on my own tonight. Tomorrow we'll get the guys together to move the big stuff. Did I mention that I'm only moving about 3 blocks away? It's nice and spacious. Plenty of windows for my plants. BRAND NEW washer and dryer. New dishwasher too. Single sink though Double insulated. It's on the second floor, and it was much cooler in there than in the house. While I was packing up my TOO MANY boxes of books, I was asking myself why I like to read so damned much... and why am I so attached to my books?! Some of the plants were no piece of cake either. Just watered a couple days ago, so the big ones were pretty heavy. Got my work out for the day. IP: Logged |
