Hi All,

Well, I am looking for some information and I am not having much luck. Since I am moving and I have some nice pieces of furniture that I no longer want (they belonged to an ex-step monster and I just want to purge those memories out of my head).

I need to find a charity that will come out here and pick up the stuff. I e-mailed the Goodwill, but if anyone has any other information, please let me know.

Thanks !!!!!

You might call the local police and sheriffs departments. Lots of them run a camp for the youths in the area or have other programs they support.

Here, it's the Sheriff's Boy's Ranch and they are happy to come out and pick up unwanted articles to sell in their store to support their program.

Set it outside near the front of the yard, and it will probably be gone in a few hours.

Ya'll are great!!!

Randall, I am still laughing

I am on my way out to Arizona for a few days so if you don't hear from me, I'll be back next week.

PS..I think I may have a job offer....If I get it I can still be a lab geek AND be social..technical sales of Microbiology lab equipment...I am in GEEK HEAVEN!! LOL

Pidaua,
Don't be surprised if you are the smartest cookie at any new job in Sierra Vista, The education requirements are somewhat more slack than back east. Even worse in Douglas! Perhaps lab experience is taken more seriously.
I found it took me 6 months to find a job here, mostly because I had a BFA. and was over qualified. I applied for a position out of desperation for a teaching job and the principal nagged me every other day. I have no teaching exp.!
The jobs my husband and I have now, came out of synchronocity. The maintenance man and his girlfriend didn't feel like managing and maintaining the property! "Uhhh, we don't feel like it anymore" So much for two weeks notice or job training. I didn't have any management training, resume, or experience!
I just said, "Yeah, I can do that". It was just a matter of my hubby and I being decent human beings.

PS Don't but a house in Old Bisbee, no matter how cute they may look! Hope you can't smell the outdoor toilets (banyos) from Mexico up there! Work on your Spanish.
Don't shop in Douglas at Christmas time unless you are prepared for a panic attack.
Do not go to Nogalas for any reason! People litterly come up to you and drag you to drug stores letting you know they will sell you any kind of drugs you want! It also is an example of a destitute third world country. If you want a "wake up call" about the material possesions you have, go. You won't come home the same. It's very sad.

Hi Philly,

Thanks for the tips. LOL...I am from So Cal and spent lots of time in Arizona. I just returned from a short trip to Sierra Vista - Mr. Taurus and I went to Nogales (LOL...I am hispanic / american Indian so I kind of "passed") I understand Spanish but I rarely speak it (my father and his family are fluent). I have been called a "coconut" brown on the outside...white on the inside. LOL..it's a joke used by full bloods on us halfers. LOL Now, I do throw them off a bit because of my height. I am 5 foot 9 and have more of the German build (from my mom) and less of the thin legs heavy stomach look in my dad's family.

I impressed my Taurus with my negotiation skills - talking down the prices of the jewelery I wanted by half...one shop keeper asked if I was from Spain because the Rich American's never paid half price LOL..I said - Nope...I'm an American LOL..Hmmm. I had the BEST lunch at a restaurant called Elvira's..I met the owners brother on my last trip out to AZ and Mr. T said it rocked. I used to go down to Tijuana a few times a year when I lived in Orange County. The poverty is sad and it's rampant all over the country. In Puerta Vallerta one only has to go two blocks from the beautiful beach shops to see the shacks.

I will most likely work in Tucson and commute - Mr. Taurus is in the Army and he can't fix where he is stationed. When his lease is up, we will most likely move to Bensen, AZ. The job I am hoping to land is in technical sales, accompanying sales people to meet with laboratory directors...seems there aren't too many social lab geeks like me around- so now a market is opening up.

I do like Sierra Vista- but I am sure the charm can wear off. My dad is close to us in Phoenix, and he is retired. He wants me to take things easy for a few months (Actually he wants a travel buddy and we have always been close). Personally, it is hard for me to take things easy because I LOVE working...and I do have to keep that in check because I can very easily fall into the workaholic rut.

I'll be going back down to Nogales when I get there. Mr. T found a carpenter / store that makes custom wood furniture and delivers (1/4 down - cash on delivery). I have my eye on this vanity / dressing table with mirror..can't touch that in the states for less that $1000 but I got the guy to seriously think of $350 plus we want a bakers rack.

I have to commend Mr. T--- even though he is not of that culture he jumps right in. Some people have a hard time doing that because it is such a shock. Even though I was raised with money, my dad came from picking fruit / veges in the fields and lived in migrant camps, even though his family was born here and are Spanish / Apache. Poor is Poor, but he taught us to work for what we have and never take it for granted.

Oh...I went to Hastings.. Cute place.. I would like to see more of a metaphysical shop. Who knows.. maybe I can open something like that in Sierra Vista.

Juni..I'll be going by Tortilla Flats again. I have some pictures from my last trip in Feb, but I don't know how to insert them into this forum LOL

please help me

Love to you all

Tortilla Flats! Holy shmoly! I want to see those pictures, pid. If you go to http://photobucket.com and start an account, you can upload photos and then link to them in your post with the [img] tags, if that makes any sense. Didn't we rename that place in Linda's honor or somthin when we bought it?
