I posed this question to my nearest and dearest who replied, " Oh now let me see, I'd probably want to spend it having a good s**g!!"Of course I thought to myself, what a waste of valuable time that would be. I told him I would spend my last five minutes calling all my friends and loved ones, thanking them for blessing my life. To which the 'Wise One" responded, " Oh yeah, just like a women to talk herself to death, and you still wouldn't have time to finish!!!" I thought perhaps he's right after all. We could go out in a blaze of instead. How would you spend yours? These are your last five minutes. Think about it. IP: Logged |

I'd be calling someone and having sex.. they'd understand..... not exactly time for 'prudence' and tact. Who knows really.. I think I would be very shocked , so I'd spend my last minutes going- "Yeah right.. only five minutes? What? No..... that can't be right! I demand a recount!!!" Probably fritter it away with the mundane. Not knowing what to do. Isn't that what we al do? Who could think about being 'deep' at a time like that?

You are impish and infectious little Pixie. To use the "O" word three times in succession!!!!..... Do excuse me whilst I recline in shock. I mean hardly an in depth spiritual dialogue is it? To think I always thought an orgasam was something to be viewed under a microscope too. Gia

What? Five minutes... um, okay... Yes, chocolate, visiting with bestest friends and family, hugging them all quickly, then on to the sex.... they'd all understand, I'm sure. Just can't be so selfish in bed, must make it a quick ''O''.... usually takes ages. Ghani IP: Logged |

Well, it's good to see that the body's instinct for preservation of the species is still alive and strong in so many of you...I have a question about the question. Is this everybody's last five minutes, or just mine? Are we talking end-of-the world scenario or just one personal death? It makes a difference, you know...

Paras, I had already thought about that. I think I'd probably be interested in both personal and global scenarios.Be it personal, or global, it's your choice. Perhaps for some it makes no difference. What about your last five minutes? Gia

Ok, Gia, I'll answer it both ways.Oh, btw, I love your answer, SunChild. If it were just my last five minutes, I would probably spend it regretting that it was only five minutes. Can't I have a few hours or a day's warning? Pleeeease??? If it were everyone's last five minutes, I would probably try to tune into the same wavelength as SunChild... In either case, I would be very excited to finally find out what happens after death, firsthand and for sure. I don't think I would "do" much of anything. It would mostly be a period of mental preparation. (Me? Mental? Go figure.) Of course, I'm a wannabe Immortal, so that should never happen. IP: Logged |

Hmmm. Depends on where I am. If I'm anywhere near the ocean that's where I'm headed. Otherwise, sit me down lotus position in front of a very large stereo and play "Ode to Joy" and I will go out with a happy heart. "Ode to Joy" on the beach would be bonus points but I don't suppose I should hold out for it. Same thing for personal and worldwide demise.IP: Logged |

IF, is a big word, so I'd have some of you folks do a lexigram on that statement. See what comes up. I guess I'd also have to consider who told me I only had five minutes, then ask them what does five minutes look like. (it would probably take 45 minutes to do that) I would then have at least fifty minutes. Since there are so many time zones in the world, different people would die at different times, so some would actually have more than five minutes. That's not five minutes. They are liars. No one would die in five minutes. How would we synchronize our watches? Then I'd ask another, and another, and another question till he/she drops dead. I'd confuse them to death. Then I'd change my underwear. IP: Logged |

PB - TINK - Otherwise, sit me down lotus position in front of a very large stereo and play "Ode to Joy" and I will go out with a happy heart. Very nice answer. Very nice. I might do that, too, though not the beach unless there was no one else there. OK, maybe only people I loved. And big waves. Great waves with dolphins jumping through them like in the morning at Virginia Beach. Or I might go for a mountain stream in the early spring, roaring from the thaw swell. West Virginia with blue and white translucent stands of ice on the hills. Or a massive thunderstorm rolling through a southern afternoon, the sky dark but the air electric with lightning. Or a farm field in the Fall, all golden and orange. God I'll miss this place when I go. The beings that I Love will still be with me - they always are, I guess, wiping away this illusion of time - but I wonder if there'll be rain in the other place. I wonder if there'll be puddles and rocks if I want there to be, and spiders and mockingbirds and cats to watch. Call me unenlightened, call me what you will, but I sure do like the smell and feel of good dirt. I wonder if the spirit of Here will stay. IP: Logged |

That was a beautiful poem Proxieme I daresay Uncle Walt would have liked that one. There is so much power and beauty in Creation. I understand why we were tempted to stay. (ps you're right. I should have specified - I must be alone on the beach. Or else if there is someone there they must be off in the distance and I mustn't know who they are) IP: Logged |
