Hey Philly! For those that havent read the thread she is talking about this is the rundown.
The night before the Twin Towers fell I was playing around with my Tarot deck. I did two readings (the reading was supposed to be for me) but I couldnt quite read the cards. I know basically what the cards mean, but putting them together - for me - is another story. In both readings the Tower card came out placed in the Outcome position in the Celtic Cross spread. I thought "Now this is weird, what does it all mean?" The same card in the same position - twice. The next day the towers fell. I did not remember the readings I had done the night before until about a week later. And I was in complete shock and a little spooked when I remembered.
For anyone who knows the what the Tarot cards look like - this is spooky because the Tower card shows people falling out of a tower that has been struck by lightning. And the meaning of the card has to do with sudden changes, loss, --
"Shock, trauma, unpleasant experiences.
Intense confrontations.
Deep, uncomfortable, self-revelations.
Sudden occurrences. Shake up. Upheaval.
Things happening over which one has little control. Frustration.
Facing uncomfortable ordeals."
Honestly Philbird, I am not an expert at the Tarot. I've had a deck for years and do readings for myself every so often, but I am not really good at it. I think it is also harder to read for yourself because you probably have an unconsious feeling of the way you want your question to be answered and it interferes with the true message.
I think it was pretty amazing also, that you and your hubby drew the same card in the same week. To me it shows how connected you are and that card probably had extra significance to the both of you at that time. The message of that card wanted to make sure it was really being heard.
I have read that just by using Tarot cards you are opening yourself up to the psychic realm. It raises and helps awaken you to your psychic abilities. I believe this to be true.
Also I think it is fabulous that you and your hubby draw a card every week. This helps you to concentrate on the meaning and really learn the cards and let their meanings sink in.
And it doesnt suprise me that the card is always right on, for the things going on for the time it was drawn for you two. The Tarot is really amazing and I believe there is alot to be learnt from it.
There are a few people here in LL who are very knowledgeable with the Tarot. PixelPixie and StarLover come to mind. I know there are more but I cant think of names.
Oh!! Another cool Tarot story that I happened to have posted yesterday in Heathcliff's Corner.
A few years back my best friend gave me a little, all black kitten for my birthday.
For days I was contemplating on names for the kitten. All of the ones I was thinking of - I didnt really like. So get this - one day I come home from work - walk into my apartment and noticed my Tarot cards had been knocked off the shelf and were spread out all over the floor. (I lived alone - so I know the cat did it). All of the cards were spread out face down - except one - that was facing picture side up. I picked it up and it was the Magician card! Well there we go!! She picked out her own name - Magic! It fit her well - being an all black cat. And now there was also a cool story behind her name. I still have that same deck and the Magician card has all these little holes - bite marks - in it from her that day.
Anyway, my suggestion to you would be to keep picking a card a week and really letting the meanings sink in. You may even want to try a small spread here and there. Like asking a yes or no question. Yes would be indicated by an upright card and No - a reversed card. Or do a three card spread - Past, Present and Future. Have fun with it. You know, now I want to start getting back into learning the Tarot.
Maybe Pixie or some others will have something to add.
I think it's really cool that your hubby is into the same things you are into and picks a card too. He sounds like a cool guy.
Well take care and talk to you soon!
PS - I think it's great that your son is going to live with you - when does he arrive?
