Hi Yang. Here is something I found in the magazine I get called the Mountain Astrologer.Aquarius Full Moon - July 31, 2004
Astrology first began as a way of marking time; our days, months, and years are still defined by the cycles of the Earth, Moon, and Sun. A calendar month averages 30.5 days, the lunar month 29.5 days, so occasionally (every two and a half years) there is a month with two Full Moons, commonly called a Blue Moon. In India, this phenomenon is known as Adhik Mas and, according to Richard Giles (an Australian astrologer), relates to an ancient Hindu celebration of Krishna who is depicted with blue skin. Research by Sky and Telescope magazine (May 1999) showed that compilers of the Farmer's Almanac used the term Blue Moon to refer to the fourth Full Moon in a season and that its association with two Full Moons in a calendar month is actually the result of a writer's mistake. The Blue Moon's connotation with absurdity traces back to Shakespeare's time ("If the Moon is blue/We must believe that it is true"); its link with infrequency ("once in a blue moon") appeared more recently, about 150 years ago.
So, what's a Blue Moon in Aquarius-Leo about? Certainly not about feeling blue. If so, a blue mood is a warning that we're out of touch with our heart's desires, for Leo is all about the heart - what we love, what brings us joy, what we have to share. It's the hero/heroine's journey: the quest for the Grail, the true Self. Leo does not mean putting on an act or seeking adulation. Real lions don't have to prove anything; they just are. The Sun in Leo at this Full Moon asks: Who are you? What makes you special? What do you have to shine into the world?
The Moon in Aquarius raises complementary questions: Where must you challenge the status quo? Where can you receive and give support to kindred spirits? How can you make a difference? Neptune provides important clues as he merges with the Moon now and reaches an exact opposition to the Sun on August 5. Things are not always what they appear when Neptune's around, and his presence with the Full Moon creates a psychic fog, forcing us to rely on our inner sense of direction and remember that, ultimately, " we are all pencils in the hand of God" (Mother Teresa).
The Sabian symbols add to the spiritual message: For 9° Leo: "Glass blowers shape beautiful vases with their controlled breathing; the need to involve one's most spiritual and vital energies in the creative act if it is to produce significant and beautiful new forms." And for 9° Aquarius: "A flag is seen turning into an eagle; the dynamic incorporation of new social values in individuals who exemplify the spiritual potential and greatest significance of these values."
Trusting our intuition and being open to change is emphasized by two other alignments. Uranus in Pisces opposes Mercury in Virgo, catalyzing revolutionary insights. Being in a quiet, receptive state increases the potential for receiving mind-blowing information. Jupiter at 19° Virgo is very close to squaring Pluto at 20° Sagittarius (exact on August 6). Jupiter stationed retrograde on January 3 at 19° Virgo and again reaches that degree on August 2; since January, we've been detaching from our cultural conditioning and upgrading our beliefs. "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world; indeed it's the only thing that ever has" (Margaret Mead)
