*Pokes* Anyone still awake?

I'm just wondering about us people that stay up at this hour. I have a really hard time going to bed before 12, school night or not. Unfortunately, during school, I only get about five hours of sleep everynight, due to this. I also think I might have insomia, because it takes me about an hour to fall asleep at night. Even when I'm exhausted, it still takes awhile for me to fall asleep. My brain just doesn't shut up, and my legs get this horrible restless feeling. But I can then sleep like a baby for 12 hours.

Every vacation that I get, I always end up going to bed by the time the sun comes up. I've set a record this summer- I've been going to be at my earliest, around 4:30.

So, what kind of sleeping abnormalties/disorders do you have?

*hoo hooo oo oo* (owl noises)

Hi Ever,
I'm up. I'm a major insomniac, like yourself. I have the worst time falling asleep, even when I'm exausted. My brain also "just doesnt shut up". LOL
It really sucks. But when I finally do conk out - I'm a regular Sleeping Beauty. A bomb could go off and I'd never know.

The last I heard from the "experts" (sleep researchers) is that now they believe there is no such thing as a "normal" sleep pattern. That everyone's is different. It depends on the individual.

Of course, the "experts" like to change their minds every year about things like coffee, eggs, and sleep, so who knows?

I too, even if exhausted, can't sleep at a reasonable time. I lay there forever. So I just get up and do other things. I have always been a night owl... I stay up all night, painting/reading, enjoying solitude/studying charts or something I wanted to.... but I still have to function the next day. One day it will catch up to me.

I think I didn't post much last night, but I was online until after two. and I woke at 8:30 am.

Ughhhh. I have to wake up in five hours for a long day of band camp and I can't fall asleep for ANYTHING. I'm thinking of pulling an all night so that way I'll be really sleepy by the time I get home tomorrow.

But then, that has it's downfalls. I'm going to be working hard, with the combined efforts of marching from 9-5, playing my trombone as loud as I can, and doing all of this in August Florida weather. I nearly had a heatstroke at it last year, and that was with sleep =S.

Oh, screw it, I'm staying up, I just spent two hours trying to fall asleep.

For the record, I hatehatehatehate my body clock.

Normally, I fall asleep quickly. I love sleep and I get a nice 8 hours...BUT...I am no longer working - I resigned and will be moving to Arizona to be with my fiance on 9/1.

Sooooo, that leaves me to packing..Damn I hate my Virgo rising sometimes. Do you know that I am actually creating an Excel file to log all my boxes / suitcases and their contents?

Add to that..I am so excited about going home..going back out West (even though Orange County, CA is my home and I will be moving to Arizona). My dad, recently retired and step mom will be living only 3 hours from me. It has been forever and a day since I lived within driving distance of my family.

Even being a Sag...having a 4th house Sun, I love being close to my family.

AND..being able to live with the man I love..yeah that is a HUGE bonus...so I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve..I can't sleep.. I just keep packing..collecting things for the Purple Heart charity and getting things in order before I go..even though I will be SOOOOO happy to leave the East Coast..
