Okay....now here's some names with no pictures...I met Eunice Shriver (Maria's mom, President Kennedy's sister, and Arnold's mother-in-law)when she was speaking at a democratic meeting at a home right next door to where I lived...my next door neighbor invited me...she was campaigning for a guy who was running for Gov of Michigan, at the time...(I can't remember his name) ....and then there was President Ford's family who lived in Grand Rapids, MI. My father-in-law knew the Ford family...they did business with each other.....so at Christmas time, President Ford's brother Tom used to send us a box of assorted cheeses, every year....I thought that was kinda cool... Let's see...what else...hmmm...might mention a certain fellow with whom I had a romance, who gained a bit of fame, and appeared on Dick Clark's Bandstand...I won't name him...(and I feel silly for even taking about it...but ya asked...) That's all I can think of for now... Love, Rainbow IP: Logged |

Okay....here's one more...I am Native American Indian and live on a reservation here in Michigan...Our tribe is called THE LITTLE RIVER BAND OF OTTAWA INDIANS.... Every year our tribe has a pow wow and this year Irene Bedard attended. Irene was the voice of POCAHONTAS in Disney's movie that came out a while ago and she was also the model for the animated Pocahontas in the movie...... Anyway, to make a long story short...*sigh*.. I'm posting a picture of my granddaughter Tianna with Irene. Tianna lives in Tennessee, but was visiting me this summer, so my very happy little granddaughter and I went to the pow wow together where she got to meet "Pocahontas." She absolutely LOVES that movie and has seen it over and over, and so it was a total thrill for her to actually get to meet "Pocahontas." I am the photographer this time...and I might mention that Irene was also a very sweet person TIANNA AND POCAHONTAS Love, Rainbow IP: Logged |

For those of you who are not familiar with Irene Bedard (Pid probably knows who she is), here is a little info on her....and ......here is another photo of (Pocahontas).... She is a Native American Actress born in Alaska, on July 22, 1967 Her big breakthrough came in 1994, in TNT's historically potent Lakota Woman: Siege at Wounded Knee. Bedard won a Golden Globe nomination for her portrayal of Mary Crow Dog, a woman whose life gains meaning when she joins the famed 1973 Indian protest event involving the American Indian Movement. "I came out feeling I'd done my job well," she says of that role. She also starred in Disney's Squanto: A Warrior's Tale Song of Hiawatha (1997) .... Minnehaha ...and.... Smoke Signals (1998) .... Suzy Song ....among others... You can see her here too...a very sweet gal... http://www.cowboysindians.com/articles/archives/1199/bedard.html

You are from Michigan, Rainbow? My mom was born and raised in Detroit, and I have family there still. Parts of Michigan are extremely beautiful, wouldn't you agree?IP: Logged |

Lalalinda.....did you say MOSES??? Holy Schmoley!Reminds me of a song my dad used to sing, called "True Blue Billy." There was a line in the song that went.... "I saw Peter, Paul and Moses, Playing ring around the roses, and I'll whip the man that says it isn't so" Funny how stuff like that comes back to you...I hadn't thought of that song for along time.....thanks for the memory... Stacy.........yes....I was born in Muskegon, which is on the "west coast" of Michigan, right on Lake Michigan....lived in Grand Rapids and Zeeland for awhile, but now live further north in the Manistee area (also on Lake Michigan...oooh I love that lake). I currently live on an Indian Reservation. It's two miles from the magical lake that I love so much. We have only been a federally recognized tribe for about 10 years, having been re-affirmed at that time, so our tribal lands have been given back to us and we have also built a big beautiful casino...I live two miles from that, also... I'm not all that familiar with the Detroit area since it is on the other side of the state, but have been there, of course.. ...and I agree...there is a lot of beauty in Michigan....we have many inland lakes and streams as well as the great lakes... OMG, Rainbow!!! You met Johnny Cash??!! I am soooooo jealous!!! He's one of my musical heroes!!!I forgot one more person I met, kinda dumb, but did anyone ever watch ''Home Improvement''? Zachary Ty Brian who played Brad, the oldest son. I met him once. He was drunk and annoying, and trying to get all us waitresses to go home with him (one by one, not all at the same time ewwwww). We threw him out. He was acting like some big star, and just looked like an arse!! Ghani IP: Logged |

Ghani....Yes...not only met Johnny Cash, but "worked" with him several times....or I should say appeared on the same show he was on...but goodness gracious that was a LONG time ago....met June Carter too....(before they were even married...)Johnny was a Pisces, and a special kind of guy...working right up 'til the end... (did you ever see his last video?)It was quite touching...*sigh* I kinda figured that he would not be around this earth plane long...once June left...they were so close... Yes, I'm honored to say I met him and "knew" him for a bit back then...he had some troubles along the way...(but don't we all?) *sigh* Yes, I've watched Home Improvement (Tim Allen is from my home state, Michigan)....and know who you're talking about..... Interesting story...about "Brad." I guess a lot of people let their fame go to their head...and often with results that aren't too good...*sigh* Love, Rainbow IP: Logged |

My, My, they are coming out of the wood work . I forgot I went to school with the kid that played Eddie Munster, and had a professor who was a roommate with Jim Henson. The charactor Bert was designed after this prof. When he told us this, the connection was obvious! Charactor, speech....huh, forgot about those, I wonder how many more are buried.IP: Logged |

Oh yeah....Hank Williams sister (prolly no one here knows who he is), and I used to correspond back and forth via snail mail many, many, many, moons ago...*sigh* Also I guess the most fameous person I actually "know" is Bobby Bare (and again, I'm sure no one here knows who he is either) ...but Bobby and I used to sing together in Portsmouth, Ohio, in the days before he reached his fame...(only country music fans would know who I'm talking about)...his biggest hit was something called "DETROIT CITY." He also appeared in a movie called DISTANT TRUMPET...(yeah, back in the stone age... ) LOve, Rainbow IP: Logged |

Rainbow, Not know Hank Williams??? Pa-shaw!!! I may only be 23, but me soul is a wee bit older than that, lassie!! Some fave lyrics that my blue eyed self hears every time my heart is broken:In the twilight glow I see her Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain. As we kissed good-bye and parted, I knew we'd never meet again. Love is like a dying ember. Where only memories remain. Through the ages I'll remember- Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain. Such beauty in such simple words.... Just remembered another ''famous'' person. Same pub in L.A., remember the movie ''Stand by Me''? Also the series of Star Trek: the New Generation, the character of Wesley? Waited on him a few times. I can't remember his name now, but he is a stand up comedian now, and soooo nice!! Really good tipper, too!!! I had a crush on him when I saw SBM, and it was really weird to see him all grown up in person. Crush totally gone. Blood Red Moon, You lucky, LUCKY girl!!! No wonder you got to meet all these rock stars, you're GORGEOUS!!! Love and Light!! Ghani IP: Logged |
