The 'rats' thing started my freshman year in high school. Originally he was a few pieces of clip art thrown together so that my best friend and I could print funny one-panel strips. He was called 'The Overseer' and was bent on world domination. I reworked him and now he's my alter-ego. (I know it may be trite and overdone nowadays, but I can't help myself... I love trenchcaots.)then Pearl Jam did that song, and it's one of my favorites. The blender project is my attempt at recreating 'Katie' in 3-D. I want to turn her into a Microsoft Agent (little character that pops up on your screen, talks to you, takes voice c ommands, etc.), and I'll be able to run the computer just by talking to her. God knows if I'll ever get that one done, it's a lot of work. And you can tell I'm a sick man, putting all that detail into a head that's going to end up half an inch high in the finished product. But I really want it to look like her. Photorealistically. If I ever finish it, I'm going to contact her website and see if they want to buy it from me. I also need to come up with my own character. I'm thinking the rat. IP: Logged |

Oh.. sorry. The time life pic was something I adapted from a time/life century book. I will often pick up Photograph books at garage sales, as I love drawing and painting from real life....(Which I am sure you are all familiar with) The woman was walking across a 'desert' with her chhildren, after a very bad drought. I don't know ( I can't remember) Where but I think it is in Africa. Quite visually haunting in the photograph as well, which is why I felt I had to paint it. In the opriginal, there are two children, both very swollen and skinny But I chose to omit one... I liked the composition with only the one.. also.. no copyright stuff.....IP: Logged |
