Clean, subtly scented warm skin. Babies, children or Lovers. I could smell their skin forever. Chocolate, spices, coffee, musk, clean light scents too, fresh baked bread, cinnamon, nutmeg, lily-of-the-valley, magnolia, vanilla, my perfume, amber, patchouli, sandalwood, neroli, tangerine, rich pipe tobacco, so many more!!!!!! I love really fresh, crisp, clean smells, like fresh laundry- oh, I love that smell! Coconut and vanilla are great too, and cocoa butter. And I absolutely love the smell of the beach- not during low tide, of course, but yeah =D.------------------ "Out of your depth or not, it's up to you whether you sink or swim." IP: Logged |

BRM - P&S for me, too, but they generally have to be together for me to really dig 'em. Coffee, too, though I only like drinking it if it has chocolate in it. Maybe caramel. The smell of rain coming in (yes, it does have its own smell - though I can generally only pick it up in rural areas). The smell of snow. Mint leaves crushed between your fingers. (Oh, weeeiiiird - just thinking about it, I caught a whiff.) Meghan after a bath. Jase's stinky man-stench (it's all about context, all about context...) Everything my Grandmommy owns (she's a Leo Sun/Pisces Moon & it all smells of lavender). LS - Yep, we bought some Grapples a couple of months ago...they kinda smell like Grape Kool-Aide IP: Logged |

Did you know that the sense of smell deteriorates least of all the senses in old age?(Sorry, Immortals... just a factoid I picked up somewhere.) Mine are: Coffee. Especially a real Cappuccino. Rain... on concrete or grass, doesn't matter. Crayola crayons. Sandalwood! But not patchouli, BRM... it's like someone lined the inside of my nose with salt! IP: Logged |

"new car" smell...it's not particularly lovely, just very distinctive and capeable of invoking the feeling of luxery. freshly laundered sheets (I use Gain. It smells dreamy) Anybody rememember "Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific" Shampoo?? That smelled really really nice. I wonder why they discontinued it. the smell of a turkey roasting in the oven. MMMMMMM. Almost any colone on a sexy man. Definately the smell after a rain, especially when it follows a hot sunny day. I agree, even on concrete it smells...really clean and fresh. Sweet peas, their flowers, still on the vine, on a warm summer's eve. So many wonderfull smells. I could go on forever. Did you know that the olfactory sense is the sense most closely related to memory? Yup, smells will trigger memories much more than any other sense. IP: Logged |

It's funny this should come up. I am in the process of writing my new book. In the story a character explores the sense of smell in terms of memory. It amazing how quickly a simple fragrance can take you back years. It could be a place, person, or perhaps an experience long concealed in the mists of time. Smells are like invisible trails they always lead you somewhere. My favourite smells are: THE OCEAN FRESH AIR AFTER A STORM HOT SUMMER ROSES VANILLA PODS FRESH VINE TOMATOES BAKING BREAD SWEET PEAS LILLACS GARDENIA GERANIUM CLOVES CORIANDER BASIL DAMP EARTH FRESH LINEN WINE LEMONS ENGLISH COUNTRYSIDE SCONES SMELLS OF PEOPLE I LOVE BABIES - IT'S A PINK SMELL. I can't help but associate colours with smells. Do any of you? Gia IP: Logged |

I've always been highly synaesthetic, Gia. I smell and taste everything -- colors, shapes, textures. I see sounds. Just had a thought. That may explain my odd natural resistance to psychadelic chemicals. I have wowed a few Deadheads in my younger years. While everyone else is seeing pink elephants, I'm still 'waiting for the show to start'. At four times the dosage, too. Go figure.IP: Logged |

I miss them soooo much!!Also rose oil, Nag Champa, rain, snow, clove cigarettes, oatmeal rasin cookies, freshly damp earth, that ''man'' smell, and christmas potpourri (minds me of my daddy). Fresh laundry Victoria Secret Vanilla Lace Coconut oil Spiced Candles Rain...yes Proxie is right, it does have that smell The smell of the mountains first thing in the morning Driving through central California - where they grow grapes, strawberries and the smell of livestock - it is very Earthy and homey to meWhen the house smells like garlic and my abuela is cooking. The sweet smell of my grandma when she would hug me. The smell of Mr. Taurus - it's the fresh crisp smell of clean laundry and the slightest touch of cologne. Oh...the smell of an ice cold juicy orange when you first pull open the meat. IP: Logged |
