Is anyone watching them? Really beautiful, I loved the cube man and parade of Greek history.------------------ "Out of your depth or not, it's up to you whether you sink or swim." IP: Logged |

I was born in Athens so I felt compelled to watch. I guess just to see some views of Athens and perhaps, if lucky enough, a friend or two in the crowd. I knew it would be good, but I was stunned at how good. It was truly amazing. I so loved the Greek history, the strands of DNA, the cube man, the dress, the whole thing was fantastic visually as well as educationally. Quite an accomplishment for such a small country. Well done Athens! I was particularly moved by the march of nations.I started to cry. I couldn't help myself. I noticed just how beautiful we all are. I looked closely at the faces of all those athletes marching. I looked in their eyes. I could clearly see how we all wanted the same things. I wondered why all that unity and hope, all that energy and strength, mind power, education, knowledge, could not be harnessed to build bridges to connect us to each other, instead walls to divide us. Did anyone else perceive how beautiful we all are? It inspired me and gave me reason to have greater faith. Gia

Of course we watched, I was raised on watching the Olympics! I only watched 2 hours, because it lasted way past my bedtime I was supposed to go to the 1976 Olympics in Montreal; I woke up sick that morning so my whole family went without me. I was supposed to go to the equestrian competition. Darn! My family went to the swimming competition as well. IP: Logged |

Yes! Si! Oui! Da!Gia, I was thinking the same thing. I really wanted to cry, but we were watching it in the pub, and everyone was sort of chatting and going about their business, not really paying attention, so I would have had ''what's wrong? Why are you crying?'' to answer to all night. So I had my little moment to myself, and felt content that it had at least affected me! Beautiful display, they really got it right! Too bad it can't be that way everyday, people from all nations coming together for a common good... oh my, wait, that's what we do here!! Another plus for my day!! Love and light, Ghani IP: Logged | |
