Hello everyone! I missed everyone! I have a lot of catching up to do. Update... My son Jaybird is here with me in AZ. He likes it so far and, he likes school??? Made friends the first day of school. Two girls said he was cute, behind his back. But you know Moms, they have extrasensory hearing! I heard them. I'll be posting. Take care! MaryIP: Logged |

PhillyI was thinking about you only yesterday. I was concerned and wondering how you were doing. Great news about Jay. Post his picture so we can all see what a cutie he is. I bet you won't have nearly as much time on your hands, however please don't totally leave us. Gia IP: Logged |

Thanks Guys! Ahhhhh, adult conversation! Sheaa, I haven't been ignoring your posts about my health. I already use most of the products you mentioned! (for my birds) Funny you should mention the few I do buy! Are you reading my mind? You forgot the Bugs and Berries though.Gia, I'll work on that photo! I'm doing really great! I got an incredible raise and a big bonus from my boss that I didn't ask for. I had a wonderful compliment from Jay, he said, "Mom, you're not like other moms." I asked why and he said, "You're fun, all the other moms I know are boring." Plus, I made him wet himself laughing in the supermarket. He wanted all this Pillsbury Dough Boy crap. I went off on a tyrade about how he was a killer of small children and something about why his eyes were blue, drugs, preservatives and pornography. Poke his belly a little lower and... now you know why he flings his arms in glee and jumps up and down. Of course all in kid language. He really is a funny kid. We have the same taste in humor. (far side is a fav.) Take care for now Bouce! No Gia, I won't let that go! Oh, Gia Jay has ADHD. Are there any alternatives to medication. He's like you, he wants it yesterday! Actually, so do I. We don't have time to read instructions, ya know? Maybe certian foods? I try to avoid a lot of sugar and caffine. Anyone, feel free to make suggestions!

Philbird, I found some facts which may help a little with nutrition and ADHD for Jaybird ADHD Diet advice and nutrition facts
- Ideally seek the help of a nutrition consultant who has experience of ADHD.
- Have a test for food sensitivities and a hair mineral analysis for heavy metal toxicity. A nutrition consultant will be able to arrange these tests.
- An elimination diet, again with the help of an experienced nutrition consultant or nutritionally aware physician can be helpful in identifying allergens, but take care that the child is receiving adequate nutrition.
- Meanwhile, remove all refined sugars from the diet, including refined carbohydrates like white flour and white rice, all artificial chemicals such as BHA and BHT, colourings, flavourings, emulsifiers, preservatives, thickeners, vegetable gums, anti-caking agents such as calcium silicate, bleaching agents, and so on.
- Unfortunately, many hyperactive children are also sensitive to naturally occurring salicylates and phenolic compounds, which include quite a few fruits
It goes on to talk about 'Salicylates' quote: Many foods naturally contain salicylates, which is similar to aspirin. Salicylate-like compounds are used to flavour foods such as cake mixes, puddings, ice cream, chewing gum and soft drinks. Therefore stay away from any refined foods to be on the safe side. Most fruit, especially berries, raisins and prunes and other dried fruits contain salicylates. Liquorice and peppermint sweets are also high in salicylates, and nuts and seeds contain some. Certain herbs are particularly high in salicylates, including curry powder, paprika, thyme, dill, oregano and turmeric. Safe foods as far salicylates are concerned include vegetables, legumes, grains, meat, poultry, fish, eggs and dairy produce. However, there may be some other food intolerances amongs these for individuals.
Possible food intolerances in order of likelihood: 1. Red dye - because you have packets of it, surely?? (I know as it coloured food )
2. yellow dye 3. blue dye 4. preservatives 5. cow’s milk 6. soya 7. chocolate 8. grape 9. orange 10. peanuts 11. wheat 12. corn 13. tomato 14. egg 15. cane sugar 16. pple 17. fish 18. oats quote: Poor nutrition and heavy metal toxicity also often go hand in hand – consider a good quality multivitamin and mineral supplement.
Pure natural omega-3, omega-6 and omega-9 with vitamins D & E is recommended and something called Banana Vitaforte powder; quote: a blend of vitamins and minerals in a base of natural freeze-dried banana. Free from chemical additives or preservatives, milk products or sugars.
On this link there's some advice on diet too; http://www.angel-images.com/diet.htm It may be stuff you know already but I hope this helps too

!!!! Ohhh, God! Sheaa...tears, again! The very minute I start knitting, I'm going to make one of those little buggers! But I think I'll only knit 1 arm and leg, and an extra head, between his legs! He can poke himself! Dough boy isn't nearly as irritating as that STUPID Snuggle bear!!! That tart actually creates a nasty emotional reaction in my mind! I really don't know why. I prefer the porcupine. Take Care everyone! IP: Logged |

So nice to be thought of and not thought up! Hmmm, since I'm working on the immortality thingy, I think I'll think my self up everyday. Goodie, a plan! Now I have to go to a TA meeting. IP: Logged |
