I often think to myself... "Self, it would be a lot easier to get around if other people just drove more like ME!!!"

For instance, if you're gonna be in the fast lane, you should be driving a minimum of 5 miles an hour OVER the speed limit... or get out of the FAST LANE!!!

Also, cheaters...

Those people who wait until the very last possible moment to get over to take their exit. Everyone behind them has to slow down to allow them in. It's just plain rude IMO.

Anyone else got driving peeves to get off their chest??

Ohh, so many reasons why I no longer drive:

-When people ride your bum on dangerous roads, when you're already going 5 over and you have 2 kids in your car

-No communication between drivers at intersections; who's gonna go first? Me? You? That guy? OH, let's all try to go at the same time!! OOPS!! BANG!

-People who drive too fast in the snow, or too slow in the rain.

-Seeing mini-vans with 3 kids in them going 90 on the freeway. What are these people thinking?

-PEOPLE TALKING ON CELL PHONES WHILE DRIVING. Not only illegal, but also careless and dangerous.

That's about it, I guess. I haven't driven in about 9 months, so I haven't been able to get peeved too often.

Good one, Randall. What IS that about?

Keep our fingers crossed Star

Ghani, they haven't made it illegal in Washington to talk on the phone and drive at the same time (to my knowledge)... And I have to agree. That is totally annoying!

... too slow in the rain is a BIG one here. People get really annoyed with people that drive really slowly in the rain... since it rains 9 months out of the year, almost daily... local people don't really slow down too much for it. Unless it's one of the first rains of the season. Then the road is all oily... and you need to be extra careful.

* Cheaters (There's a line, they jump)

* Drifters (People who don't merge correctly and/or don't use their turn signal)

I'm not a driver, but pedestrians who cross where and whenever they feel like it! In my town, the pedestrians ALWAYS have the right of way, even if they are assholes!

Mine are the same as yours LibraSparkle.

My attitude is, if I want to speed in the fast lane, get out of my way, it's my ticket. I get so peeved at people who decide "I'm going the speed limit (in the fast lane), and you should too." I mean, wtf is so difficult about getting over to let me pass, and resuming your slow-ass pace once I've passed?

The other one, well, I'm a ***** , I'll ride the ass of the person in front of me (in traffic, so we're all going maybe 10 mph at best) when in a lane that exits onto another freeway or whatever, so that people can't cheat and pull in at the last moment. But the REAL buttfaces are the ones that will drive right up to the exit and stop trafic in the lane they're in to get over to the exiting lane...

If someone rides my ass, I just get out of their way. I figure, it's their ticket, they can have at it.

And my final peeve, are what I refer to as "breakers"...people that break in 65 mph traffic for no apparent reason. I want to yell: "here's a newsflash - your car will lose speed if you take your foot off the gas, breaking is not necessary"...

I used to hate SUVs because you couldn't see through them/around them. Now I own one, and it's great. I can see everything (I guess if you can't beat em, join em?)

Where I live people go ninety-to-nothing...literally! 90mph! then SLAM on the breaks!

(I know that it has nothing to do with the actual act of driving but I HATE IT WHEN MY LICENCE PLATE GETS STOLEN!)

#1 all time biggest peeve- People who abruptly change lanes without a turn signal when we are going 75 mph and there's barely a car and a half's length space to sqeeze into. My heart jumps every time when someone does that right in front of me. It used to happen atleast once every day driving to work on the Sunset Hwy between Portland and Beaverton OR.

My current biggest peeve now is people driving up or down the canyon road going 5-10 under the limit and not pulling over when there's a line of 5-10 locals behind 'em who want to get by. Too many slow tourists who want to gawk at the mountains.....

LibraSparkle,

OMG I have huge peeves about driving!!!! I don't have time to read eveyrone's answers 'cos I'm at school.

People talking on their cell phones. Why can't they wait until they get to their destination, the parking lot, or home to talk? People look so stupid talking and driving. If you're going to do it, then use the ear piece.

People who don't let you over when you have your signal on.

People who don't give the right of way to pedestrians.

People who don't give the right of way to pedestrians and their dogs walking in a crosswalk.

People who cruise through stopsigns.

People who take cuts at the gas station while you're next in line for that pump. I've had so many people do that to me!!!! :anger:

People who tail right behind you while you're walking across the street or to your car in the parking lot. They are like 1 inch from your butt. That is so rude!!!!

I have so many but class is starting now!! gotta go!

yup, that's the one, LS.

oh yeah the cell phone yappers make me aggro too. Especially when it's obviously imparing their driving cause they are riding their brakes in a herky-jerky way or swerving.

OMG! Here's another thing to be peeved about!

A close friend of mine was at work at the hospital on Saturday night. She drove home tired and didn't really think about her van driving a little funny. The next morning she looked out her window and realized that the passenger side of her car looked different.

Someone hit her van and the impact was so hard that it bent the axel! But guess who's insurance will go up?

Why is it always the victim that gets screwed in these situations?

Here's one: those people who have their highbeams on behind you or the people who have one broken headlight so they turn on their highbeams to make up for the broken one, not realizing that this does not help!
