So, I was hanging out at my husband's work with him the other night. He's a tech in the NOC of a local telecom company.I was bored so I started thumbing through Newton's Telecom Dictionary. The first page I opened it up to was:
Foo Foo Dust:
Magic dust when sprinkled on equipment makes the equipment work perfectly. Foo foo dust doesn't exist, of course. It's just a term for the machine suddenly coming to life when someone "talks" to it or "touches" it. In other words, a fluke situation. Also spelled fu fu dust.
One of my hubby's buddies from work (who is taking over the night shif lead posistion soon) came over yesterday to watch football (Yes, I'm a Sunday/Monday night widow ). I was telling him about my discovery in the dictionary. He thought it was really funny. Hubby, not so much.
Well, hubby forwarded an email to me today, from the guy that came to visit yesterday. He's decided to implement foo foo dust since he's going to be lead and all. LOL. Hubby's annoyed with me. I think it's hilarious!
So now ... when people's stuff is down they're going to send a tech out to sprinkle foo foo dust on their equipment
