also, i wanted to say to librasparkle that speaking of Jesus hanging around with a hooker, you should check out the Da Vinci Code. It can be cheesy at times, but it's really interesting. I don't think that ALL men who date/marry strippers, whether past or present, have problems, but many do...although as i stated before i think it has more to do with the fact that their partner still has problems with it. toodles! Hehe, how did I miss this?? quote: In fact, I smell a lot of nasty stuff in her attitude including homophobia and fudamentalism. I've always had a problem with that passage--she comes off like some whacko bible thumper.
Linda is anything but a "bible thumper". Try telling that to a preacher, priest, or minister. Loan him a copy of Star Signs. Hehehe... And I can't quite picture her as a homophobe either. I, myself, am pretty well convinced now that homosexuality is a psychological disorder (ooooh, I can't wait to hear the flames I'll get for that ), but I'm certainly no homophobe. In fact, at the moment, I have more gay friends than straight ones! Don't have to agree with everything about a person to feel love, friendship, and compassion for them. Now, be nice when you talk about Linda to me. She's my hero. ------------------ And think not you can direct the course of love, for love, if it finds you worthy, directs your course. --Kahlil Gibran IP: Logged |

Well, paras, I'm certainly glad to hear that you at least see it as a "case by case" thing. You seem to understand that it's not all cut and dried, and that is only common sense if you ask me. As for homosexuality....The most exhaustive studies indicate that up to 80% of the population has experienced homosexual thoughts/feelings. I don't think it is a disorder at all, but I don't intend to turn this into a thread about homosexuality, so let's just keep it short and sweet. For myself, I have always identified as straight, but hey, never say "never".IP: Logged |

Only 80%? That seems a bit low, but maybe that's just my perception. I'm sure that well over 99% of us have had a murderous thought at one time or another, wanted to "kill" someone. Yet, the large majority of us are not murderers. So I would contend that not every thought we think defines who we naturally are. Not even every thought that most of us think. Rather, I would say we have all learned bad habits together. Like eating Twinkies. IP: Logged | |
