Hi. My coworkers were saying that there is no point in voting because "so & so" is already going to win the election, because that's what the polls say. I told them they should vote, and vote for who they feel should win, because each person is making a "statement" when they vote. Also, if everyone didn't vote, because they thought who they voted for wouldn't win anyways, then that's not what the purpose of voting is for! This post is not to say who you are for or against, it is just to remind everyone that they need to vote, and please vote for who you really feel should run our country. Thank you. Here's an article about polls; Article from Newsday.com (I don't visit Global Unity, and I thought it would be better to post this here than there, for others who don't visit GU either) IP: Logged |

I afree with you. I had another string where many individuals said that they weren't going to vote. The old saying that one gets what they deserve is true. If you don't vote, don't b*t*h about what you get.Lanny IP: Logged |

Anybody else seen "Iron Jawed Angels"? After that movie.. as a woman I could not in good conscience decide to not vote after the great sacrifices that were given for my enfranchisement. IP: Logged |

My hubby and I already voted. We had to request absentee ballots since we're a military family and are technically still residents of Florida though we live in NC. It's really not that hard and it doesn't take much time to do. I went to the polls last election to so I know what that's like also. Voting really can make a difference. Even if you don't "keep up with politics" all the time, at least make your voice heard when it comes to who's going to lead your country. When I went to vote the first time, I went with a friend who lived close by. We made a girls night out of it. We went to the polls together, then we went to dinner and a movie with other friends who had joined our pact to vote. It was great fun, seriously. ------------------ "You must be the change you wish to see in the world." - Ghandi IP: Logged |

Thanks Eleanore!!!!!!! Yeah, I think it's fun to go to the polls! Ever since I started voting it's fun. Once, my friend was at the booth next to me and I started talking to her, and she said, "Jovette! Ssshhh! We're not supposed to talk!" I thought it was hilarious! IP: Logged |

Im gonna get tomatos thrown at me for this but Im not voting this election. Im at a dead stalemate and after research...I really dont want either of them running the country and cant figure out which one of them I think is the tinyest more capable than the other. But I usually vote and I promise next election I will vote again. I also promise I wont whine too much about who gets voted in IP: Logged |

Im so upset! It's to late for me to get my absontee ballot. I can't vote at my University because it's not my Hometown As a last resort I'll just have to send out a mental vote or throw a penny in a wishing well. I wonder if that would have the same effect as voting?IP: Logged |
