Angela's Ashes is a movie?

Hmmm should I see it, or shouldn't I?

It was a great book.

It's a good movie,LS. Of course the book is better, the books are always better. But it stands up. Dunno that it's a chick flick though, it's too heart-wrenching.

How to lose a guy was the most hilarious movie I have ever seen!!!! Kate Hudson was a great comedian. I would be cracking up too much to do those scenes.

someone mentioned '80s....... Hey! now.....(hands on hips) what's wrong with 80's movies!?

1980s movies - YEAH BAYBEE!

I love "Nothing in Common," - was one of Tom Hanks' first movies... Sela Ward, Bess Armstrong, Eva Marie Saint, Hector Elizondo and Jackie Gleason, in his last role before he passed away.

Great underrated movie.

I also love "Moonstruck," "A Little Romance," "The Breakfast Club" and "Fluke," the latter of which is truly a fantastic movie, starring a dog (sort of).

"Goodfellas," "Fargo" and "Welcome to the Dollhouse" are also faves, none are really chick flicks!

Anyone ever seen "Baraka"? A very spiritually enlightening movie of amazing scenes around the world set to music.

I want to see "Before Sunrise" and "Before Sunset" - heard those are quite fantastic, and they ARE "chick flicks" i believe!

anyone see Kate and Leopold? cute movie

Outrageous Fortune (an 80's flick, pretty funny especially the part with George Carlin)

2 thumbs up Trill for About a Boy (adorable movie)

if you want to see a creapy Hugh Grant theres a Woody Allen flick with him and Tracy Ullman, he actually made my skin crawl

I have noticed that Richard Gere is coming out with a movie called "Shall we Dance" this is a remake of an Asian movie (japanese, I think) This even though subtitled is exellent and I highly recomend it.

honorable mentions (already mentioned) is French Kiss, Bridget Jones, Under the Tuscan Sun (a heartwarming movie)

Those of you who like Chick Flicks...do you also like Chick Lit? The most famous example of Chick Lit is Bridget Jones's Diary. I have a vested reason for asking.

I never read the book. Hmmm... chick lit... Does Anne Rice count as chick lit? I'm sure the Beauty sieries is, but I only made it a few chapters into the first one. I've read almost all of her books. 7 from the Vampire Chronicles and all three Mayfair books.... and LOVED them.

Why, whatever could that be, trillian?
But, yeah - I've read chick books (Bridget Jones' Diary) and've liked them. Non-Fiction's been the order of the day lately, though. Right now I'm reading
* _The Price of Motherhood: Why the Most Important Job in the World Is Still the Least Valued_ by Ann Crittenden
* _Care of the Soul_ by Thomas Moore
with
*_An Open Heart: Practicing Compassion in Everyday Life_ by the Dalai Lama
and
*_Warrior Women: An Archaeologist's Search for History's Hidden Heroines_ by Jeannine Davis-Kimball
waiting in the wings.
I wanted to get Clarke's _Against All Enemies_, but the rasafrackin' library can't find it.
Wait...that I've been sticking to Non-Fiction's not entirely accurate: I ploughed through the Harry Potter series the other month ("I'll read them to Meghan!...Op, already done,") and Preston and Child's _Brimstone_. Jase loves the latter authors, so the book was around. Pretty good, too. If Pendergast is dead (he isn't), I'm going to sue. Oh, yes - Jump right in to our litigious society with both feet.

I'll try About A Boy.
Do you think a Grandma could stand it?
We're going to be up in VA for about a week and a half, and I'm scouting out stuff to watch w/ her.
re: Ground Hog's Day: I think that that's pretty much unisex - heck, Jeb Bush referenced it in a speech about all of the recent hurricanes.

Ones that I forgot about (but like) that have been mentioned:
Practical Magic
French Kiss
Moulin Rouge (although I've known guys who've liked it...granted, most have been gay, but still...)

Geez...it seems that I like quite a few more than I thought.

*glares accusingly at Pisces Sun and Venus in Taurus*
