GRRRRRRRRRRRR...Third time in 2 weeks. Just a few minutes ago I got the following automatic message from postmaster@pcis.net (pcis.net is my ISP, through which I have a *ahem* REAL, POP3, e-mail account): quote: Your message has been delayed and is still awaiting delivery to the following recipient(s):****************@yahoo.com Message delayed I/O error encountered
I sent that e-mail last night, and it was urgent. Who knows if the person I was sending it to got it while it still mattered?? And who knows if I'm supposed to have mail from any of my friends who use Yahoo? It's routinely delayed for hours on end. Oh, well... *sigh*. I trust to Fate. But, still, just as a general guideline: Please... anyone... everyone... do the rest of us a favor: DON'T -- FREAKIN' -- USE -- YAHOO!!! (Or MSN (Hotmail) or AOL.) Thank you. Hope you enjoyed the rant. IP: Logged |

May be it's not "Yahoo!'s" fault . . .Could be the fault of the servers, traffic, and bugs . . . Or it could be the influx of user traffic affecting the processors . . . Or it could be the fault of software developers not anticipating accurately the future trend use of their scripts in conjunction with current hardware . . . Or it could be what the data users are sending that are affecting the ability of servers to translate and send over IP . . . IP: Logged |

Those are excellent points you bring up for consideration, Aphrodite. All I'm askin', though, is... WHY, OH, WHY, CAN'T PEOPLE USE GOOD OL' POP3, THE WAY IT WAS MEANT TO BE??? IP: Logged |

And, interestingly enough, the mail server at my ISP is "down" today, so I'm fuqed for e-mail at the moment. However, the NICE thing is, since I couldn't connect to it, all I had to do was make a 30-second phone call to my *ahem* small, local ISP and ask them if their server was down, or if it was a problem at my end. Sure enough, they told me their server was down and being repaired. And I didn't have to wade through any electronic voice menus or wait on hold for half an hour to find this out. No, that's my roommate, 26. He even has a subscription to Birds and Blooms. But for $12.50 ($13.33 after tax), I'm sure I'll think of some use for it. <--- "Cheesy Rat Grin" (tm) IP: Logged |

Hi Paras,Just count yourself lucky (or not) that you don't get porno mail like me. It keeps coming back. It's always the same old sites. Boy, you'd think they'd change positions every now and then. It sure is getting boring! Anyway, why do you Americans say anyhoo? I was a wonderin' what ever happened to my chart?
