Sorry, but I just watched Farenheit 9/11 and the debates tonight. That was too much to take in for one night. I want to pull my hair out I'm so aggravated! Something needs to be done in this country and fast. We are moving backwards...IP: Logged |

May I suggest you hash it out in Global Unity? There are people who like to go on break from GU, that probably would rather not run into these topics out of GU. While some of us might agree with you completely, there are many members of this forum who disagree with your statements. Opinions can get very heated on this sort of topic. From my understanding, that is why Global Unity has been created. IP: Logged |

Yea ok- that was just an implusive post. I didn't want to start a debate in here, just venting...I guess in the wrong place. I apologize if I really offended anyone. IP: Logged |

Hey Scorpbaby,No need to apologize. I share your sentiments. There's a lot of ugliness going around in GU right now. I'd just like to keep it from spilling over into this forum. As far as the movie goes, I haven't seen it yet. It'll be coming to me from Netflix soon. A lot of information has come out about the movie, and about it's possible biases and truth stretching. I will watch it with an open mind. I'm sure it's not ALL lies... as I understand it, there is a lot of footage in the movie that can speak for itself. IP: Logged |

Thanks, I'm glad no one was P!$$ed by my outburst lol I just checked out GU and I'm a little frightened to say anything in there! I would get chewed up for sure. Hey Libra Sparkle~ When I watched Farenheit, with my mom, she had said the same as you. She had heard, like everyone else, how some of the movie was fabricated and bias. So she viewed it keeping all of that in mind. By the end of it she was in between crying and boiling over. I was even expecting some of the movie to go off on tangents but it didn't. Very powerful film!IP: Logged |

Farenhiet 9/11 is a fairy tale, I don't believe in what Michael Moore says anymore, much of the movie has been debunked on deaf ears. I went to go see it myself, and if I hadn't done any research, I would've fallen for his remarks. Personally, I hope Bush wins over Kerry any day. Are media is way too pessimistic and fearful, and the war is not half as bad as the liberals would like you to believe nor is the economy. But of course that is from my personal observation and opinion. I don't want to inhibit anyone else, but I want to make sure my point of view gets out there. -StarLover IP: Logged |

I just pay attention, I observe the candidates as individuals only, I listen to both points of view, I think of what is best for our country at this time, and then I make my personal opinion. I'm not afraid to be wrong, I take full responsibility if I am.-StarLover IP: Logged |

Michael Moore is not a credible news source, he's an incredible film maker because he can sway the audience, but he's not a professional reporter, he doesn't go by journalist guidelines. He's biased, he over embellishes while leaving out other sources. In his movie, he bashes the military, he bashes the soldiers, and then he thinks he's supporting them. My cousin went to Iraq, and I had gone to see the movie with him, he was jumping out of his seat ready to kick Michael Moore in the ass by portraying the soldiers as idiots. He wanted to kick his ass, and you know what I don't blame him. Not only that, but Moore doesn't want to believe that he could possibly be wrong. After all he's making millions and millions of dollars by bashing the country that is giving him all the money. You think he's helping the cause, no he's hurting the cause. -StarLover

Wilfred Owen (1893-1918) "Dulce et Decorum Est""Bent double, like old beggars under sacks, Knock-kneed, coughing like hags, we cursed through sludge, Till on the haunting flares we turned our backs, And towards our distant rest began to trudge. Men marched asleep. Many had lost their boots, But limped on, blood-shod. All went lame, all blind; Drunk with fatigue; deaf even to the hoots Of gas-shells dropping softly behind. Gas! GAS! quick, boys! An ecstasy of fumbling, Fitting the clumsy helmets just in time, But someone still was yelling out and stumbling And flound’ring like a man in fire or lime.— Dim through the misty panes and thick green light, As under a green sea, I saw him drowning.
In all my dreams before my helpless sight He plunges at me, guttering, choking, drowning. If in some smothering dreams, you too could pace Behind the wagon that we flung him in, And watch the white eyes writhing in his face, His hanging face, like a devil’s sick of sin, If you could hear, at every jolt, the blood Come gurgling from the froth-corrupted lungs Bitten as the cud Of vile, incurable sores on innocent tongues,— My friend, you would not tell with such high zest TO CHILDREN ARDENT FOR SOME DESPERATE GLORY, THE OLD LIE: *Dulce et decorum est Pro patria mori."
**(Tis sweet and fitting to die for one's country)
