Who have you been traced back to?My grandma is BIG into Genealogy. She's traced our family back REALLY far. I am one of the great x elebenty billion grand daughter of John and John Quincy Adams. Also, Daniel Boon, but I don't remember how I'm supposed to be related. IP: Logged |

Hello, Libra Sparkle. I got interested in my geneology a few years ago. It's been painstaking, but I've traced my mother's father's line back to the 9th century, with ancestors including William the Conqueror and Charlemagne. Being a History buff, I was very excited! Not as much luck with my other three grandparents though. To the 17th century with my maternal grandmother, and only to the early 19th with paternal grandparents.------------------ Sun-Scorp Moon-Libra ASC-Virgo Merc-Scorp Venus-Virgo Mars-Cap IP: Logged |

Aqua, If you know your grandparents full names, including maiden names for grandmothers, you're already on your way. Try a site like ancestry.com; they sometimes offer free trials where you can get a good start. Otherwise, the package I have is about $35.00 a month.IP: Logged |

I've traced my family back to 1630 when one of my ancestors on my mom's dad's family was born in Scarbourough, ME. I also have a Revolutionary War ancestor, so I'm in the process of verifying that as to finish my application for Daughters of the American Revolution. I'm real excited about that. Unfortunately, my dad's family emigrated around the turn of the century supposedly from "Russia", but hey, you know how borders change around that area, don't ya? His surname is German-Jewish, so who knows?Anyhow, I'm the "family history preserver" in my family, which makes me the keeper of all family records and pics and it's a big job, of course, since we have tons of them... I'm a big fan of: rootsweb.org ancestry.com cyndislist.com ------------------ -K "Most people love with restraint As if they were someday to hate We hated gently, carefully As if we were someday to love"-Venus Trines at Midnight IP: Logged |

I started my geneology search a while ago when we were talking about it in one of my classes. I typed my name into google and got hooked up with a family historian. I IMed him and I told him my name and my parents' names and HE told me MY birthday! It was totaly wild. He sent me a document that traced my last name/genology back 13 generations. If you don't want to pay for the ancestry websites... try searching your name on google... you might just find something!IP: Logged |
