what's up with the candles? i just noticed that there are candles next to the board description on the home page. some are "lite up" and others are not. what does this mean? oh, someone quench my insatiable curiosity please!

Ooh.. I think I know what you're talking about now.

There are graphics on the main forum page to show you which forums have new topics since your last visit. The ones that are "lit up" are the ones with new topics.

(I don't get those graphics with Crazy Browser for some reason)

thank you for the welcome. to tell the truth, i've been a lurker on this site on and off for years. i've just now started to post.

as for your insatiable curiosity, the name puppyblew comes from the neopets.com site. it is a virtual pet site and one of the petpets you can have on there is a puppyblew (bascially a blue dog that is a friend to your other animals) i have one, hence the name! hope the answer was as exciting as you thought it would be.
