Sarah Slean...does she do that song that goes "If I could have just one little peice of that I'd be soooo... come over to the big time. come over to the real world We could get all dressed up and be like a talk show." Or something like that? I saw a video once, and I loved the song. Never heard hide nor hair of her again, tho. Weird. Such a good song. Didn't pay the Canadian Broadcasting Network enough I guess. A Sort of Fairy Tale...totally luv that song... Download this one - Sick and Beautiful ~ Artificial Joy Club. Very funky tune. I guarentee you'll enjoy it. Trust me! Pix, you may even want to add it to your bag of tricks.

I am just gonna say a few songs I love off the top of my head.At the moment I am loving CALL ON ME by Eric Prydz. It's a dance song but it gets you goovy and it's great. Norah Jones- Don't Know Why. What a voice and that song gets into my veins. Coldplay-Yellow. One of the best love songs ever to be recorded. Pearljam-Last Kiss. What a tragic and sad song. Aghhh so many songs to mention. Christmas Day by Dido (really love the music)The young gentleman came riding past on a snow-blue winter's day He asked to drink by our fire and I was pleased to let him stay He drank there quietly for a while and then he turned and said to me Your eyes are green Like summer grass Your lips are red like a fresh-cut rose Your hair is soft like an Irish stream And your voice is filled with sweet beauty And the last words I heard him say were I shall return for you my love on Christmas Day And the night will come but I won't sleep as I watch the stars that lead him I cannot place where he is but still my heart goes with him I'm saving all my Sunday clothes for the day that I'll be leaving Father knows My sister knows And my friends They're happy for me And the priest he says you should thank God for the blessing of such beauty And the last words I heard him say were I shall return for you my love on Christmas Day I shall return for you my love on Christmas Day On Christmas Day I shall return for you My love... And the last words I heard him say Were the last words I ever heard him say I shall return for you my love on Christmas Day I said I will return on Christmas Day And yes, I shall return on Christmas day I shall return, for you, on Christmas Day My love I will return on Christmas Day I shall return ,my love, on Christmas Day On Christmas Day

Reminded me of ya!!! -"Gloria by Patti Smith Jesus died for somebody's sins but not mine meltin' in a pot of thieves wild card up my sleeve thick heart of stone my sins my own they belong to me, me people say "beware!" but I don't care the words are just rules and regulations to me, me I-I walk in a room, you know I look so proud I'm movin' in this here atmosphere, well, anything's allowed and I go to this here party and I just get bored until I look out the window, see a sweet young thing leanin' on the parking meter oh, she looks so good, oh, she looks so fine and I got this crazy feeling and then I'm gonna ah-ah make her mine ooh I'll put my spell on her here she comes walkin' down the street here she comes comin' through my door here she comes crawlin' up my stair here she comes waltzin' through the hall in a pretty red dress and oh, she looks so good, oh, she looks so fine and I got this crazy feeling that I'm gonna ah-ah make her mine and then I hear this knockin' on my door hear this knockin' on my door and I look up into the big tower clock and say, "oh my God here's midnight!" and my baby is walkin' through the door leanin' on my couch she whispers to me and I take the big plunge and oh, she was so good and oh, she was so fine and I'm gonna tell the world that I just ah-ah made her mine and I said darling, tell me your name, she told me her name she whispered to me, she told me her name and her name is, and her name is, and her name is, and her name is G-L-O-R-I-A G-L-O-R-I-A Gloria G-L-O-R-I-A Gloria G-L-O-R-I-A Gloria G-L-O-R-I-A Gloria I was at the stadium There were twenty thousand girls called their names out to me Marie and Ruth but to tell you the truth I didn't hear them I didn't see I let my eyes rise to the big tower clock and I heard those bells chimin' in my heart going ding dong ding dong ding dong ding dong. ding dong ding dong ding dong ding dong counting the time, then you came to my room and you whispered to me and we took the big plunge and oh. you were so good, oh, you were so fine and I gotta tell the world that I make her mine make her mine make her mine make her mine make her mine make her mine G-L-O-R-I-A Gloria G-L-O-R-I-A Gloria G-L-O-R-I-A Gloria, G-L-O-R-I-A Gloria and the tower bells chime, "ding dong" they chime they're singing, "Jesus died for somebody's sins but not mine." So, I tumbled across this song the other day. VH2 is doing this ''Indie 500'' thing, and this song came on... I hadn't heard it in a while, and it literally brought me to a halt.. I stood there gobsmacked by the beauty of it. There is such an eerie quality about his voice, and then come the cresendoes of an almost orchestra... and I was a mass of emotion filled flesh. Thought I'd share it with y'all... Mercury Rev-- The Dark is Rising I dreamed of you on my farm I dreamed of you in my arms But dreams are always wrong I never dreamed I'd hurt you I never dreamed I'd lose you In my dreams, I'm always strong And now the creek is rising And all my bridges burnt I always dreamed of big crowds Plooms of smoke and high clouds But dreams don't last for long I have my suspicions When the stars are in position All will be revealed But I know that until then Unless the stars surrender All will be concealed And now the snow is falling And all my fences torn I know you need someone And I can hear someone Somewhere in this song I dreamed that I was walking And the two of us were talking Of all lives mysteries But words that flow between friends Winding streams, without end I wanted you to see But it can seem surprising When you find yourself alone And now the dark is rising And a brand new moon is born I always dreamed I'd love you I never dreamed I'd lose you In my dreams, I'm always strong ------------------------------- Dammit, now I'm crying... For some reason today, I felt like puttin' on a little Alanis, circa 'when-I-was-fourteen' and singing at the top of my lungs in the shower... This song always seems to describe me pretty well... funny how a song can speak to you like that, even when you have NOTHING in common with the person who wrote it! Alanis' stats: Gem sun; Scorpio moon; Leo rising; Mars and Mercury in Cancer, and Venus in Taurus. "All I Really Want" Do I stress you out My sweater is on backwards and inside out And you say how appropriate I don't want to dissect everything today I don't mean to pick you apart you see But I can't help it There I go jumping before the gunshot has gone off Slap me with a splintered ruler And it would knock me to the floor if I wasn't there already If only I could hunt the hunter And all I really want is some patience A way to calm the angry voice And all I really want is deliverance Do I wear you out You must wonder why I'm so relentless and all strung out I'm consumed by the chill of solitary I'm like Estella I like to reel it in and then spit it out I'm frustrated by your apathy And I am frightened by the corrupted ways of this land If only I could meet the Maker And I am fascinated by the spiritual man I am humbled by his humble nature What I wouldn't give to find a soulmate Someone else to catch this drift And what I wouldn't give to meet a kindred Enough about me, let's talk about you for a minute Enough about you, let's talk about life for a while The conflicts, the craziness and the sound of pretenses Falling all around...all around Why are you so petrified of silence Here can you handle this? Did you think about your bills, your ex, your deadlines Or when you think you're gonna die Or did you long for the next distraction And all I need know is intellectual intercourse A soul to dig the hole much deeper And I have no concept of time other than it is flying If only I could kill the killer All I really want is some peace man a place to find a common ground And all I really want is a wavelength All I really want is some comfort A way to get my hands untied And all I really want is some justice... ----------------------------------- I love that lovely Canuk!!

Oh, I agree with with dorkus_malorkus, Across the Universe is a beautiful tune. Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup, They slither while they pass, they slip away across the universe Pools of sorrow, waves of joy are drifting through my open mind, Possessing and caressing me. Jai guru de va om Nothing's gonna change my world, Nothing's gonna change my world.
Images of broken light which dance before me like a million eyes, That call me on and on across the universe, Thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letter box they Tumble blindly as they make their way Across the universe Jai guru de va om Nothing's gonna change my world, Nothing's gonna change my world. Sounds of laughter shades of earth are ringing Through my open views inviting and inciting me Limitless undying love which shines around me like a Million suns, it calls me on and on Across the universe Jai guru de va om Nothing's gonna change my world, Nothing's gonna change my world. As I'm in a cynical state of mind these days regarding my love life and what-not, and I need the music to match, I've been re-listening to a bunch of my old Smashing Pumpkins CDs lately. (Gawd I miss them *cries*) Especially the song 'Ava Adore', which I've been playing over and over on a loop as I just think it's one of their best tunes ever. Lyric-wise it's a rather dark song obviously about a twisted and obsessive love that only a Venus/Mars/Neptune-in-Scorpio person such as myself could understand. IP: Logged |

Hey, You have written great lovely songs. I like Louis Armstrong, Eros Ramazzoti and so on, but the song which touch my heart deepest is.....Actually I don't know its title! It is strange, isn't it? It is BUENA VISTA SOCIAL CLUB's Song. They are Cubans and they had a concert here and of course I went. They presented their new Album. I just have to say that the Vocal - Ibrahim Ferrer is 83 years old. He is the oldest from the others in the group. But the rest are not younger too (except two backvocalgirls ).All from the group have been playing through hole their live. Ibrahim Ferrer even was born in a bar where his mother was a jazz singer. The hole concert was just great! But there was a song. Oh, what a song. It was played just on the piano and the incredible voice of Ferrer! I couldn't understand any word because he was singing in Spanish. But the spirit of this song touch so deep my heart that I almost feel pain!It has never happened to me before. I didn't need to understand nothing...the words and its message just come to me and I was feeling their strength and love... In the end of this song everybody stood up on their feet and applauded. I couldn't do nothing. I was just sitting under the spell... I needed a few minutes to get back from the heavens. Probably the song was so moving because of the live concert. But when s.b attribute his heart to doing sth which he loves, no doubt that every body will feel this Love. So, thats my favorite song! P.S. If you come across Buena Vista Sosial club, pleace just hear a few songs. and IP: Logged |

I just want to put down a line from the song "When I Was Young" by The Animals that when I first heard it, it was like an epiphany to me...."When I was young it was more important, pain more painful but I laughed much louder" Man that is so true. When I was a teenager little things hurt me much more than they do now but I did have more fun also. IP: Logged |

Carey ~ Joni MitchellThe wind is in from africa Last night I couldn’t sleep Oh, you know it sure is hard to leave here carey But it’s really not my home My fingernails are filthy, I got beach tar on my feet And I miss my clean white linen and my fancy french cologne Oh carey get out your cane And I’ll put on some silver Oh you’re a mean old daddy, but I like you fine Come on down to the mermaid cafe and I will buy you a bottle of wine And we’ll laugh and toast to nothing and smash our empty glasses down Let’s have a round for these freaks and these soldiers A round for these friends of mine Let’s have another round for the bright red devil Who keeps me in this tourist town Come on, carey, get out your cane I’ll put on some silver Oh you’re a mean old daddy, but I like you Maybe I’ll go to amsterdam Or maybe I’ll go to rome And rent me a grand piano and put some flowers ’round my room But let’s not talk about fare-thee-welis now The night is a starry dome. And they’re playin’ that scratchy rock and roll Beneath the matalla moon Come on, carey, get out your cane And I’ll put on some silver You’re a mean old daddy, but I like you The wind is in from africa Last night I couldn’t sleep Oh, you know it sure is hard to leave here But, it’s really not my home Maybe it’s been too long a time Since I was scramblin’ down in the street Now they got me used to that clean white linen And that fancy french cologne Oh carey, get out your cane I’ll put on my finest silver We’ll go to the mermaid cafe Have fun tonight I said, oh, you’re a mean old daddy, but you’re out of sight
