Since you said that you were unaware of examples of the sort of verbal abuse by the Moderators that I have been talking about, I'll begin posting them here. (I'll be adding them as I and others dig them up, so expect edits.)Example #1: From Karmic View on Homosexuality quote: IAmThat, I don't personally give a damn what any religious book or doctrine says. Those sorts of things muddy the waters. How dare you use religion to condemn anyone? Or even to infer that someone's existance is somehow wrong or tainted? Didn't your Jesus say he who is without sin should cast the first stone?
For the record, IAmThat only quoted the Quran and stated what he believed, and he was very polite about it. He never condemned Chad Spoddick, in fact, he said the following things in the posts that Trill was responding to: "THE SCRIPTURES DO NOT TELL CLEARLY IF HOMOSEXUALITY IS TO BE ABHORRED." "GOD would always love you no matter what." How DARE he...? Because he has the right to speak his mind, particularly when he does so respectfully. The only one condemning anyone was the moderator who responded and she was condeming IAmThat and his opinion. I'm not drunk, but let's say I were. Seems my ability to read a post drunk would be better than some people's ability sober. There will be more examples. No doubt you'll sweep this example under the rug in Global Unity. Ni modo. You asked for examples, and you're going to get them, until this rude, contentious behavior is rectified, or you decide that I'm the one being "contentious" for pointing out contentious behavior and rid yourself of me. Free expression comes with responsibilities, PARTICULARLY in a civil society. How dare he indeed...how dare you. With hope for a better and less contentious tomorrow, daf IP: Logged |

A strong opinion and reaction to what was viewed as a religious argument to condemn the lifestyles of 20 percent or more of society. I do not agree with the assertiveness of the Post; nor do I read that interpretation into iAmThat's Post, but I would view neither as an attack or personal insult. Obviously, we each see based upon our world schemas. I won't be responding to any of your other postings here, but I thought this one deserved mention, since I first brought it up in a rebuttal. And why not bring your verbal discretions into the fold, as well? Oh, that's right, we cannot, because you deleted them. BTW, don't you have anything better to do? ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." PS Daf, just minutes after I told you that contention should be reserved to GU, you post this--an obvious contentious subject--in this Forum. Shouldn't it be moved to the more appropriate Forum? Why should the Knowflakes who come here to celebrate Linda in Love and Light (especially those who avoid GU completely) be subjected to MZ, Shizuka, and your divisive Posts in other Forums? If you wish to post enlightening subjects, feel free to do so, but if you insist on posting overtly contentious ones, please post them in GU where people have thicker skins. Thanks! ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Yes, maybe we could vote to "take the heat off" Randall? I vote move to GU.I think that's a funny example to use Daf, and even funnier that you've used it more than once. My read of it was that IAT is learning a lot through the bible, and wished to answer the question on those grounds. Trillian doesn't seem like someone to be intimidated by the bible (or anything else for that matter) but saw offense in using the bible to speak against gay people. I think both were OK. It was a debate. IAT can then try to clarify himself to Trillian, or Trillian to IAT. That is up to them. For you to not state an opinion in that thread, and then to condemn people in that thread doesn't make sense to me. Further, I dislike when people bring up arguments after the argument is settled, as many things are in context. To reargue the context is impossible. I don't mind you bringing up the past here (I'd prefer it in GU) but really all arguments are in context and should be dealt with there. Heaps of Love, Dean. IP: Logged |

Hey, trill, it was parallel dimension. You know, where everything is the opposite. "(I'll be adding them as I and others dig them up, so expect edits.)" "others"? Who is in your pack, daf? IP: Logged |

TINK, perhaps the sheep in wolf's clothing actually forgot he was once a sheep and joined the pack. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Yes, Tink, I remember, parallel universe. But Daf keeps flirting with me, begging for my attention. IP: Logged |

I'm sorry to keep bringing this silly string to the top, but I've neglected to thank Dean for what I perceive to be a lovely compliment...

A few years ago, a friend said the word that he believed best described me was iconoclastic. I felt highly complimented. So thank you, Dean.
