I've been looking for my own spiritual gifts. I think it's so important to me, that I block receptors. Sometimes I think I am in tune with the spiritual world, but mostly it's a search, ya know? Like trying to stay above water with weights attached to your feet. Anyway, yesterday I was trying to listen to the Linda Goodman tapes over in Conscious Evolution. They were taking forever to load. I could swear I heard other sounds in the background! People talking and a phone ringing. I do have a very good sense of smell and hearing, I guess to make up for the loss of vision. I hear things all the time, kind of in the background of whatever is going on but not direct conversation with with entities or anything like that. It's almost like "creative hearing" or a different frequency. On quite a few occasions I have heard people out side, having a party. I actually get up and go outside to look for the fun! I know now I don't have to respond to the "Party Poeple" but it's always in the back of my mind they are there, like secret friends. Sometimes I hear wispers. No, I do not need a psychological check up. This has gone on for years! So vivid! So, what am I, a Bloodhound? Actually it's interesting that going back quite a few generations, all my biological family members have had or do have Bloodhounds or Bassett Hounds, but...
Just feeling the waters. Why must I struggle so hard to see what I believe is truth?

I had a strange experience with Linda Goodman too. First, I borrowed Love Signs from a friend. She told me I can keep it till she asks for it. But she didn't. I then bought Sun Signs, a relative borrowed it, and returned it with the cover burnt. She swears she kept it safly, it was always in her purse. Then I bought Star Signs. When I went back home, read a couple of pages, then left it on the coffe table and went to my room. I smelled an odure, like burning dried perfumed sticks. A pleasant odure in the family room, where the book layed. I searched for the source of that perfume, but it was only in the family room. When I forgot the book at my cousin's, she returned it to me with the cover burnt, just like the one before. She too took a very good care of the book, and doesn't know how this happened.
I then decided I shall never lend the books again. Maybe there is something in those books will help me later. Or, what?
My brother borrowed the Love Signs, that is not mine, but nothing happened to it.
It's a very big mystry for me.
Thru these books I helped a lot of people, and couples, to undersand themselves and eachother, and obtain a better life.
I even translated sun signs into arabic, to be as a refferance and reminder for friends I help.

I have Star Signs, I've learned a lot here on L.L. When I go back and read parts of the book, I understand her words better. Can't say anything weird is with the book...
WOW! What's it like in Egypt? That's a very broad question, I know!

Philbird it sounds like you could be naturally clairaudient (psychic hearing). You could focus on that during meditation and learn to control it more and hear divine things such as angels and spirits.

I also know a lot of people with increased sensitivity with smell. My mom said that when she was young she would buy watermelon bubble gum which is very smelly and my grandfather didnt like the smell so he wouldnt allow it in the house. So she would buy it, sneak it upstairs to her room and chew it. Dont ya know my grandfather could smell it all the way from downstairs and would yell at her!!!!

There isnt a particular term for smell sensitivity in the psychic sense but there should be! However I think it kind of fits under Clairsentinence (psychic feeling) since it is something of a physical sensation.

A good book for developing your spiritual/psychic abilities, a book I highly recomend is "Divine Guidence" by Doreen Virtue.

Why, thank you Miss-Apples! I will look into that!
Sometimes my hearing is so sensitive it's really hard to focus on what's currently goinhg on. I also get really brain tired, over stimulated.

I think there is something magical abt all of Linda's books. I will lose one for a while, then it will turn up in the most obvious place, like it was waiting for me all the while! I, too , have gained a lot of insight through these books and often feel like they are dear friends.

Right now I am missing Relationship Signs, I had bought it for the first time and now i have kept it somewhere I cant find!
