I watched that movie a while ago with the hubs. Having watched te original years ago, and absolutely falling in love with them, I was so excited to see it.. the hubs didn't think he watched the original..(and he would have remembered, had he). so it wasn't the same, not sharing that elemental power with loved one.... But man, I do love this... so romantic. And real.(in a fated way)IP: Logged |

We rented it last year. We both liked the way it was directed. It's a different kind of movie. It's not your normal love story is it? Gia IP: Logged |

Yes, Gia, you're right. Not your typical love story movie, which is part of its appeal to me. "Sideways" had the same appeal. If I recall correctly, "Before Sunset" wasn't overly scripted. IP: Logged |

Well this is weird. I don't remember ever hearing about this movie before tonight.. though I'm sure I must've when it was at the cinemas or something but I prolly forgot. Anyways my mum picked up a couple of movies. This is one of them, but we watched the other one first, Cellular ..so we were both too tired and went to bed..kinda, I'm still typing lol. But yeah it's just strange to see a thread about it when my mum just rented it tonight and I hadn't heard about it before.I'll watch it tomorrow, I'm curious now.. IP: Logged |

I liked is a lot, but I preferred Before Sunrise.Maybe its just the difference between love in your 20's and love in your 30's. Maybe the sequel will have more significance for me in another 10 years. IP: Logged |

Yes, HSC, love is different at the different stages in life, I'm sure. What I LOVE about Before Sunset is that the characters sound more sincere than in the Sunrise and I know for a fact that the actors wrote a lot of the scenes themselves. Maybe I didn't pay that much attention to the first movie because it was too trivial - same old romantic comedy with a twist. But when you see the second one, it's like a kick in the stomach, it shakes you and it wakes you up. It takes at least one great loss to understand that love is fragile; true love is rare and should be nurtured and cherished. With every breath you take. IP: Logged |
