HI. I wondered whether any of you know much about the singer Elizabeth Fraser or have heard the music. I find her music so spiritual; it really lifts the consciousness up. I would love to be able to sing like her too. I think her voice is divine. She dated the singer Jeff Buckley for a while too (he, too was a phenomenal singer and musician). It's kind of spooky that Jeff Buckley wrote the line 'And I can't wake up from the nightmare that pulled me in, and dragged me under'....because that's how he died, sadly. He drowned in a river, by accident.I heard that Elizabeth Fraser is also a Vegan, and believes she lived in Atlantis in a past life. I'm not sure whether this is true. Does anybody know? I adore the Cocteau Twins. Her beautiful voice...it's like she went to Angel School to learn to sing. I love Jeff Buckley too. His version of "Hallelujah" (written by Leonard Cohen) is absolutely sublime. It tears my heart up every time. You know, as big a fan of Bono as I am, he really p!ssed me off when he did a version of "Hallelujah." It was all style and no substance. Bono could have taken that song to new heights...instead, he tried to be cool. Anyway...sorry, I don't know much about their lives, except that they were once involved and apparently Elizabeth carried a torch for him long after he broke things off and wanted to remain 'just friends.' I think my fave song by CT is "Beatrix." It's haunting...I've seen U2 in concert many times. Been a fan since they first landed on our shores. I'll be seeing them again in October. Yes, "Hallelujah" was written my the master songwriter Leonard Cohen. One of my favorite versions, though, is by John Cale. Oddly, the John Cale version was featured in the film "Shrek." I nearly fell off my seat in the theatre when I heard it! IP: Logged |

My fave CT album is 'milk & kisses'. All the songs are great on there. My fave Jeff Buckley songs are 'Grace' and 'New Year's Prayer'. I love that song 'Hallujah' too. He surely went to that same Angel school! And I love 'Corpus Christi' by him and 'Eternal Life'- he really screams out emotion in that one! U2 are a legend too. I've recently descovered Lu Reed- isn't he fantastic? Love his voice..... LOve and LIght IP: Logged |
