IMO, you need to have love in order to have faith. You need to "feel" your faith in prayer. Or the prayer is usless. Faith doesn't require scientific proof. You just "know" it's true. That being said... I personally will believe in almost anything, intellectually. I believe all the spiritual concepts that are posted here. I know they are true, but I can't "feel" their truth. As much as I believe in the psychic realm where everything is possible. I feel that beyond my own consciousness I do not have faith. Is there a way to develop faith? Everything I read makes perfect sense to me, really! But I cannot "feel" the oneness with everything. There is such a block between beliving and being for me. Any suggestions? I do try to meditate, but that doesn't work either. Thanks Mary IP: Logged |

Oh Mary, I feel it SO strong and I wish I could pass it on to you honey. I couldnt survive without my faith. When I pray, I never feel those prayers will never be answered - I just open my heart and hope, I always give thanks too, for food, for shelter, for love, for health, for life. You know I think sometimes people gain faith when they have a trauma and they feel there is nowhere else to turn. I think I was born with it - all the women in my mothers family where spiritualists and gypsies. The women on my Dads side were Irish catholics, so I suppose the genes were strong there. Have your every tried going for Reiki Mary, it opens things up............give it a try girl, you may have a surprise............Love and faith Sue xxx IP: Logged |

OK, an example. You said "Hope." Doesn't that imply there is a question in your mind, a doubt? Doesn't the word hope imply something/someone else will have control over that, and not you? Example.I hope Aunt Betty will be OK. As opposed to... I "feel" and "Know" Aunt Betty will be OK puts the message out there that this is happening or is going to be a fact. No doubt at all. The faith and knowing emits vibrations to that fact. Or that possiblity. Do you see what I mean? I do believe I will have a reiki session to unblock some doubt, and I appreciate your reminding me reiki can do that. IP: Logged |

Hi PhilBird, Here's my take, because I am the same way... Take out the words, that knowing does not need descriptives or, proof. 'Feel', 'Know', 'Intuition',.... all for the organics of the mind. When it is the Soul who recognizes, it is without any words. Your block is in the letters of words leaving a false doubt. Sometimes it's all just in being, not thinking... I don't know if that makes a bit of sense to you but, that's what has helped me. Personally, meditation is a very different kind of art and, practiced in a, kind of, opposite from what's ' normal', for me. Hope you find what you are after PhilBird ~ geminstone IP: Logged |

All I can say Mary, is that it works for me - maybe at the back of the mind, we have to stay somewhat cynical, being human beings and all that - but in a perverse kinda way this works for me. I will ask and then when it happens, everytime, I am so so grateful - so maybe that is the key to stay humble and in awe of that greater power. Maybe it isnt something that can be learned, maybe its just there - who knows - its a feeling and hard to put into words. If I can help anymore, please let me know. It is so hard to rationalise spirituality isnt it? Enjoy the reiki - love to you xxIP: Logged |
