I've always liked concept albums....I know most people hate them, but I'm weird. Is it defeating the purpose to ask your opinion of what I should write about? Soooo what would make a good subject for one? Pleeease reply! Pretttyyy PLEASEEE! Tell me what you think.

You could write one to go with your favorite movie. If you want to be completely original, then you will certainly have to come up with an interesting story to tell. IP: Logged |

Oh, of course Nephthys, sorry. A concept album is an album that tells a story, instead of random songs....Sort of like an opera. They usually have a main character, and are trying to make some sort of point in the form of a metaphore. Two off the top of my head: Pink Floyd's The wall Greenday's American Idiot IP: Logged |

I love concept albums, personally. Tommy's my favorite, by The Who. As for ideas- I don't know, something you could write well about, something that you know a lot about- I don't mean a specific subject, but just something or an experience that you could write books about, you know? A feeling, whatever comes to you. Write what you know, and all of that crap .IP: Logged |

Good idea Yang Battle of Evermore ~ what are you passionate about? Similar to what AcousticGod said; I've known some albums to run like a film ~ a script from the intro, through the skits to the finale. A story you choose to tell about a certain day or experience. If you do choose to write about this thread for example, you could start it with your own topic question and run it through to an abstract view of how you felt about how it turned out? *looks around* What? It could be done! I've seen someone write an album about asking people ideas about an album before *shrugs* just may not be your thing. Basically my idea would be to choose what you know most about Good luck! IP: Logged |

What about a concept album based around the challenges of your astrological chart? You could write about your fears and your hopes. The only problem would be that it might not actually sound like a concept album. It may sound like a profound personal statement, which people appreciate much more anyway.IP: Logged |

You could pick a complex dream you had, and try to interpret it in different ways, through songs. Or maybe take one opinion or event and depict it through different people's eyes. Maybe you could do an hourly album! One song for every hour of the day. Like my video game! I love video games.
