To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting.
e. e. cummings

------------------
"If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?”
~ Alice in Wonderland

"Drop the mind that thinks in prose; revive another kind of mind that thinks in poetry. Put aside all your expertise in syllogism; let songs be your way of life. Move from intellect to intuition, from the head to the heart, because the heart is closer to the mysteries. The head is anti-mystery; the whole effort of the head is how to demystify existence."

Osho, excerpted from The Secret, Chapter 12

It is easy to make a choice between a right and a wrong path, but whats difficult is to make a choice between two right paths or two wrong paths.

- From a Hindi movie

I really really agree with this. Oftentimes I find it easy to choose between good and bad, whats difficult is when both your options are right, and you've to make a choice of which is more "right", I guess!

My favorite:

quote:
"Hungry, violent, lonely, godless: thus the lion-will wants itself. Free from the happiness of slaves, redeemed from gods and adorations, fearless and fear-inspiring, great and lonely: such is the will of the truthful."

-- Friedrich Nietzsche - Thus Spake Zarathustra

Enjoy the Summer of your youth, so that the memories will keep you warm in the Winter of your old age - me

AND

Dance like you're making love and make love like you're dancing - me

Here's a classic one:

quote:
Que Sera,Sera

Which is Latin. I forget the direct translation but its something like "Whatever will be,will be". I like it.

To penetrate that room is my desire;
The extreme attic of the mind
that lies just beyond
the last bend in the corridor.
