Deira, my mom named me after an ancient kingdom in northern britain. To this day, I've only met two other girls with my name. I didn't like it growing up, because I'd get teased a lot for having such a weird name. Now I've grown to like it and gave it to my daughter as a middle name: Jacqueline Deira
