Okay, I am half-German, I had to put up with people goose-stepping at school and calling me Hitler - right? The moment I started to LIVE was when I ignored and managed to dissociate myself from those people, stopped feeling sorry for myself, and proved to be a higher achiever than they were. And if that didn't shut them up - well, they were just idiots, basically, with nothing better to do.

I think that what was more under focus was maybe the nature of the question you originally posted, or the way it was worded. Maybe you could look a bit at your writing style, re-phrase things etc., I know things always sound different written down, or out loud, than they do in one's head. Ultimately, it is probably also best not to get too emotionally involved, but rather view these forums as an opportunity for practising dispassionate debate (says she)

I am sorry you feel that people are singling you out for your color. I had no idea of your race or ethnicity. Heck, I haven't even looked at photoshop in months and I think most of us don't look at someone's words as an indication of race. I am quite offended that someone would even make that assumption- that the people here at Lindaland actually give a crap what color one is since we are all one anyway.

Any time an ignorant dork HAS made a comment on race, they are usually warned and banned if they keep up the behaviour. Those with a conscious that realize they were being cruel usually leave peacefully, those that are not as caring will come back again and again, only to keep calling people retards, homosexuals or hicks. (All those terms are offensive to various groups).

Again, I am sorry and angry if someone actually called you a name or associated anything you said with a specific race and that should not be tolerated.

Ahhh...thank you for your worries, but I am cool. Lots of names don't bother me, first off I know I don't have a fat head.. I mean it is a good sized melon, most of is Aries and Cancer mooners (I have an Aries moon) have nicely sized nuggets (or as my fiance says.. ."Your nugget is energized with positively charged ions that attract lightening bolts..LOL..." Guess I need to be aware when I am outside in a thunderstorm - better to leave the tin-foil hat at some.

I also know that I don't look anything like a man. Yes I am tall with a muscular body from being athletic / working out and I can be somewhat masculine in liking sports, hanging with guys etc.. but I have never had anyone mistake my sexuality or gender. I actually feel sorry for someone that has to go out of their way to make such a stupid comment, but I can bet they have never been stopped on the street by strangers just to be told that they are beautiful and have a great smile.

I think we are all special in someway, whether we are white, purple, red, black or green with glitter polka dots. I have insulted people, for that I am sure. I will call someone out to the carpet, question their opinions and even insult their train of logic. I have called people's words ugly, their behaviour to be the level of pond scum and called them bitter, mean and even evil based on what they have said. We all have that right.

It becomes a different story when the person cannot even dare to think of a response that is remotely intelligent, so they resort to "You fuc*ing, retard b*tch".

We aren't "all one" here, and that's pretty apparent to me. Yes most of you guys are, but there are a handful that are mentally disturbing and are not here for the best intentions. I hope that that amount of people stays at "handful" and doesn't grow.

You are more than entitled to your opinion and if you see similarities, then that is your perception. I will not equate myself or my strength with your friend TP. We are two totally different people and I am glad that she has come to your aid when you feel you needed her.

I will keep my firm stance on drawing a line when it comes to calling people names based on race, sexuality or geographical location just because one cannot find the right words to say. If you choose to align yourself with someone of that nature because you see a deeper connection and more thoughtful soul, then I highly encourage you to help her out in her responses. Then again, I have read some of yours where you respond not from reason but from pure emotion.

What I meant about us being "all one" is not that we all get along. God, that would be SO BORING, but that almost 99% of the people here at LindaLand DO NOT look at someone's race, gender, orientation or cultural background as a means to threaten or belittle them.

I can't imagine being angry at someone's words and then attributing them to being a "black drama queen". Your color has nothing to do with it - yet you used that in an argument and in the same breath alighn yourself with a person that often singles a person's color or perceived orientation to use against them in an argument.

I can't tell you how many times your friend has called me a hick because I live in a lower populated county. Yet, the dingbat never took the time to comprehend that big cities on the East and West coast where I have lived and gone to school at. LOL...

People will only take so much here and we get tired of people constanting breaking the rules (which it isn't even the rule breaking as much as it is just pure mean-spirited talk). I get tired of people threatening to leave EVERY TIME things don't go their way.

If you want to leave, then by all means go. People want to squash other's rights to speak or to defend themselves or to argue points because they don't like rough talk. It all boils down to this, as long as we don't cross the line (as I mentioned earlier) we are free to counter any ones statements, opinion's etc.... Heck we have had some real winners here - heck out Ozone - that we still keep posting back and forth with even if we don't care for their stance on things.

In any case, if you want to post, be my guest, enjoy your stay, but if you want to threaten to leave everytime you don't like the way the tide is turning, then leave. You are not the only minority here.... check out the photos and you will see MANY of us are of color, from various backgrounds and other countries.

I wouldn't say that you are irrational.. you are just being emotional. I know that feeling because being a Sag with an Aries moon...well, I have done the same thing LOTS of times.

I reread my post (note to myself - reread when jetlagged).. I am sorry if it came across as harsh in any way and I wasn't trying to say that YOU are always threatening to leave- I mean the collective "you".

Drama is cool at times - we all need it. I like to read your posts (and sometimes laugh at the outbursts...we all do it sometimes). I'd like to see us all learn from these types of situations.

LOL..I appreciate the sentiment. I am sure you could whoop my behind in an argument (even if you think you couldn't). My more emotional side comes out in verbal battles that have to do with anything regarding my feelings. I have that whole Uranus opposing Moon and squaring Mercury thing going on. It has taken me years to learn to sit back and think before I speak. I also can have a very harsh tone - in speech and in writing- so I have learned to soften that aspect as well.

I had been very guilty of taking a heavier tone with people close to me versus people that were mere acquaintances or co-workers. I have had people close to me say "Why can't you talk to me like you do others? You take such a biting tone with me". I thought it was just in their head until I caught myself doing it with Mr. Taurus and then I had read an article about it. Over this last weekend I pulled him aside and apologized for the way I had addressed him in the past- because I was always of the mind that people close to me should just "know" LOL...

Mr. Taurus and I are doing fine. I am anxious for him to get back home. He had to go to an instructors course in TX for 3 1/2 weeks, then we went to his grandfather's funeral in NC and he flew back to TX yesterday. He should be making his way back here tomorrow. Busy.. busy..busy.. LOL..

I love my job (I could do without the politics) but that is to be expected in any career..especially one involving a local government. Can you believe the director actually said to me "Pidaua, you are very bright and beautiful, which makes you stand out in this department. Some people are intimidated by the combination - especially your breadth of knowledge. I should advise you that people may try to create problems for you out of jealousy, so please be aware".

I was like OMG... I have had MANY things said to me, but nothing along the lines of 'hey, don't be pretty or smart because you will tee off the ugly dumb people" LMAO..

In reality, even though I come across as very level headed here.. I am also a total spaz in real life - typical Saggie, but I am not a braggart - I am pretty humble and yet I am proud too. I try to help anyone I can and share what I have learned. I have spent too many years in research / science watching people try to guard their skills and information because they think it will give them the upper hand - it's so dumb.

My best buddy - also a Sag- that I work with said "Girl, you've got it going on and no matter how much you try to dress it down, your looks and brain is going to show no matter what. It is our Saggie magnetism". He is such a drama queen, I love it!!! LMAO...
