NB: I'm very sorry and apologise for the shallowness and self-centeredness of this post. However, if you take part, it may stop me from driving my friends nuts by going on about this.QUESTION: If a Capricorn says he's going to do something for you in the distant future, do you reckon he's-
a) Just pulling your leg
b) Trying to fob you off (shut you up)
c) Going to do it

I would say it depends on which type of Cappy the person in question is. There is the Cappy who has become wise, and the type of Cappy who is completely self-absorbed.The head of the company for which I work is the latter type, who will promise you many things and deliver few if any, and charge you for the delivery, too. I'm not a Cappy, but have three prominent Cappy placements, and I do my best to keep my promises. (Which is not to say I consider myself wise.  ) ------------------

I would say it depends on what the thing is, whether or not he wants to do it, and how much he likes you. I don't think Caps are above blowing people off, honestly. We're not flaky as a rule, but we do have that Cardinal self-interest thing going.Sorry! You know I love you.  IP: Logged |

Hey thanks to everyone who's taken part so far, thankyou!Yang- lol trillian, I can't comment on wiseness here, as I don't exactly know! But the Cap in question has a Sag Moon & Scorp rising, if this helps? AG, hey dude that's good, you're helping. Wants to do it- um, he said 'it would be fun' or something... Likes me? Caps have a strong desire to display integrity, and so they often deeply want to keep their word. That doesn't mean they always will, but many would have the most sincere desire to do so. They hate failing, being/feeling like failures, and letting people down, because they want to be the one people can rely on and trust. However, they can have a nasty, cynical, sarcastic side that can incline them to be deliberately insincere to people they want to repell ir passive-aggressively insult, usually people they look down on or strongly dislike for some Cappy reason (and they always have a reason, at least in their mind). Usually if a Cap doesn't like you and is trying to mock you by jerking your chain or exposing your gulliability, you'll figure it out before long...unless you're really dense. In which case the Cap will have a field day with you. So it could be C or it could E, and that would be to intentionally make you look like a gulliable buffoon because he/she doesn't like you. Mutable - it all depends on the circumstances surrounding what they said. They are problem solvers, and can say things, under pressure, just to diffuse the situation. BUT - once said, they are nagged by their own conscience to come through. So, if they have concerns about it, which may have been the reason for you having to push them, they are going to begin PUSHING YOU BACK - to satisfy their own sensibilities and concerns about why they didn't offer to do this in the first place. You'll have to do your part, in other words. Nothing comes easy with Capricorn. If you earn it, you'll get it. If you don't, they'll keep reminding you of why you aren't getting that and what they need to see from YOU first, especially if YOU made it an issue. Be prepared for that. IP: Logged |

Thanks, Gem Nymph, lioneye, Peri! GN- I don't think it's his intention to embarrass or mock me... and as far as I know he doesn't have any deep-seated resentment of me either! I hope lioneye- The circumstance is he basically sort of said he'd take me out for my sixteenth next year. He hasn't said he wants anything in return or anything.... but it seems so far away I can't be sure of the possibility of it happening!

Well, in that case, just keep being a good friend and a decent humanoind and it will happen, if you stay in touch. You can count on it - but will you still want that when the time comes?
