Greetings All!

I just wanted to pop in real quick to share the good news...

On September 19, at 2:53am in Fairbanks, Alaska we welcomed the newest member of our family into the world..

Azalea Louise Rhiannon

She was born under the gentle care of midwives in a large tub of warm water, only 2 hours after arriving at the birth center. All told, it was only about 5 hours of really hard labor and staying at home for most of it made it considerably easier to tolerate. I also made an important discovery during this labor that I hadn't known of the first time around.. (one that every potentially child bearing woman should know) ..kissing through the contrations makes them considerably easier to bear! It might sound silly but I swear it helps lots!

Anyway, I plan on writing up a birth story here real soon and the pictures should be uploaded sometime next week so I will post more then. Right now we are getting settled in at home and things are going great. Azalea is healthy, beautiful and just perfect, in her mommy's opinion.

oh, if anyone wants to take a glance at her chart, it's got this really interesting star formation going on that I'm not sure of the significance of.. I've never come across one quite like it...

oh dear Harpyr....

that's the most beautiful birth story i've heard....awwwww....it sounds so sweet and full of love....

i'm so very happy for sweet azalea...to enter this world in such a gentle and loving fashion!
