While I was at Safeway yesterday, I sampled a cherry and accidently swallowed the pip...I didn't sleep all last night because of pain in my tummy. I can't eat today without hurting..is it stuck in my stomach? What happens? What should I do? Will it ever get digested? Has anyone had this happen before? IP: Logged |

A cherry tree will grow out of your ears... Relax! I eat seeds all the time. Pomegranate, Orange, Lemon, grape even apple seeds. Infact, the only seeds I avoid are water melon seeds. I eat them when they are dried and packaged. IP: Logged |

But a cherry pip is bigger, I hope it comes out soon! My stomach is hurting, I was worried it wouldn't come out! I eat apple cores...the seeds are bitter though. Thanks Iqhunk, my papa used to say that if I swallow seeds they will sprout inside me...and grow. Thanks peri..I was worried becuase it causing a great deal of discomfort. IP: Logged |

Yeah, a pip is smooth and shouldn't do any harm on it's passage through. Nothing to worry about.DId you know that apple seeds contain trace amounts of arsenic? However, there's not enough to do any harm.
