A lot of things humble me.Tonight while surfing around, I found a link with pictures of galaxies upon galaxies. The thought of all of those out there brought those tears that come when it seems that you'll not fit into your body because of the boundlessness of feeling. I mean, look at this composite picture: That's a galaxy cluster. One of myriad. Beyond marvelous. IP: Logged |

Watching an inspirational movie humbles, but also inspires me.I saw Walk The Line over the weekend, and like the movie Shine, it was just incredible. Made me totally emotional. IP: Logged |

Before I opened the thread, my first thought was the night sky. I see I'm not the only one. quote: *puts galaxy in pocket and goes for a walk in the woods*

I agree MoonChild...the pattern of a spiders web, the wing structure of a bird, the outline of a cliff, it's all amazing. I notice cancer's often have a "pedestrian" attitude, that is the take great pleasure from the little things in life. IP: Logged |

what humbles me.....the smile of a child, the first snowfall...when i once again realize how beautiful and different each snowflake is and how wonderous nature.......nature in itself is humbling.....the delicate petals of a flower....the touch of a lovers breath upon my cheek..the realization that no matter what I own, what I drive or what I do for a living, it is the simple things that bring joy and the realization and freedom it brings to know that money and things can come and go, and true riches are right in front of us, if we only take the time to notice.....all that we need for happiness is inside if we can get / be humble..it changes perspective on all things.. The vulnerability of another - another person, a child, an animal - or the fragility of a thing humbles. It makes me aware that I have power to harm if I do not think of the consequences of my actions. To choose to ue that power for good rather than harm is humbling too - to teach a child, to comfort another person, to care for an animal or plant, to create art or do/say things that inspire others. what humbles me is when I hear/read about the things that people do with the intent of relieving/easing the suffering of fellow humans, giving their time selflessly...to see the vulnerability of another when they place their trust in you as a friend...seeing an older couple holding hands as if they were still 21...the brilliance of another person, to see their mind in action.IP: Logged |
