The F major chord played on the lowest register of the guitar must be played similarly to a bar chord.Practice making your index finger lay as flatly across the strings as possible, to avoid any string buzz, as it will be necessary to span the width of the fretboard for this chord. 1st fret- Low E string (F note is played) 3rd fret- A string (C note is played) 3rd fret- D string (F note is played) 2nd fret- G string (A note is played) 1st fret- B string (C note is played) 1st fret- High E string (F note is played) You'll notice this 1-3-3-2-1-1 form (ascending from the lowest pitch to the highest pitch), can be played anywhere on the neck: Shift this whole form up one fret, and you'll be playing the F# major chord. Change the "2" in that sequence to a "1" (down one fret), and you've gone from Major to Minor: 1-3-3-1-1-1 IP: Logged |

Incidentally, I'm not crazy about the F chord either, but in cases where I'm playing in the key of C (or Am) I sometimes finger it X-3-3-2-1-0. It's Fmaj7, and it's a nice chord. You may be able to wrap your thumb around to get the low F if you really need it.Regarding bar chords (which I'm not crazy about overall), all you need to remember is that your forefinger becomes the end of the neck. It raises the tone across all strings. Then combine standard fingering of some of your favorite easy chords with your remaining three fingers - E, Em, A, Am IP: Logged |

Black rocks! one of my favorite colors...I have a crappy 5 watt amp, roland micro cube..but it's okay for my room, and I practice at night after 10,so it really fits the bill, but I'll get another one after I get to a certain level of playing...

I was working on a song yesterday. It's not finished, but I'm excited about it. My friend, Mike, wrote a song with these chords, so I'm just trying to put something together for him. http://www.myspace.com/omsfriends (It's Mike Song)I bought a new program yesterday for recording, ACID Music Studio. So far so good. In the song above, I only used some of their drum beats. All the other loops I created (guitar, bass, keys, etc.). IP: Logged |

Hahaa..... I think those are some lovely lyrics, HD! lol...glad to know you're feeling better. Don't want any bouts of depression. I shall look up those names on Rhapsody tomorrow. The Geocites links didn't work. : ( I'm still playing my mandolin, yes indeeed... I've actually been playing around with the banjo too. I've been pretty well. I caught a rotten fish, but I'm all right now! lol Now I've been playing guitar with a Cancer/Libra guy, considering the bands I was in cease to exist. I'm just up playing some Alice Cooper right now before bed. Which I must be hitting the hay... I shouldn't even be up at this hour. *snaps rubber band on wrist* Back in bed, you hooligan... ttyl! Hi BoE quote: I shall look up those names on Rhapsody tomorrow. The Geocites links didn't work.
Which ones -- the ones ending in ".wma" or the ones ending in ".mp3"?? They tested OK at this end..... My cyber-skills rep is at stake, here Zala IP: Logged |
