When we hurt each other we should write it down in the sand, so the winds of forgiveness can make it go away for good. When we help each other we should chisel it in stone, lest we never forget the love of a friend. Christian H. GodefroyIP: Logged |

quote: "A friend is one who comes in when the rest of the world goes out"
I was thinking about that one, but I can't find the name of the person who said it. A friend you have to buy won’t be worth what you pay for him. --GEORGE D. PRENTICE (1802–1870) IP: Logged |

teaselbaby (Walter Winchell said it) & HSC, you beat me to the quote s As a late bloomer, I will add: Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe unto him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10. ''The most beautiful discovery true friends make is that they can grow separetley without growing apart.''Elizabeth Foley I'm not totally sure about the wording of this one, or the person who said it, but it has always made me laugh a little. A friend will help you in times of need, but a true friend will not lend you money. Only because money, for who knows what reason, makes people totally crazy and changes the dynamic of friendship completely. Strangely enough, I got a book for my birthday from a friend filled with friendship quotes and poems, but I'm at her house now and don't have it. I've posted this before, in another thread, but it seems to fit for this too. Being her friend, I do not care, no I, How gods or men may wrong me, beat me down, Her words sufficient star to travel by, I count her quiet praise sufficient crown. Being her friend, I do not covet gold, Save for a royal gift to give her pleasure; To sit with her, and have her hand to hold, Is wealth, I think, surpassing minted treasure. Being her friend, I only covet art, A white pure flame to search me as I trace In crooked letters from a throbbing heart, The Hymn to beauty written on her face. -John Masefield Me likee.
