Hi Guys I just came home from the hospital today. I'm really sore and tired. The mass was much bigger than they expected. They've figured out that it was an "aggressive angiomyxoma". It's benign. I'm on the road to recovery. Here's a link if you'd like to read about it: http://www.cancerhelp.org.uk/help/default.asp?page=6211 I can't sit here any longer tho... sitting up like this is kinda painful. Plus, I'm all loopy on painkillers. It's hard to focus on the screen. Thanks for the well wishes. I should be back to myself in a week or so. IP: Logged |

I just wanted to take a moment to whine and complain about the RASH that has developed around my incisions (there are 4 small and 1 large insisions) from the adhesive from the medical tape.IT REALLY ITCHES A LOT! ... and I want to cry! Waah!! Alright... I feel a little better now. Thanks. IP: Logged |

No, There's more...I'm tired of being doped up on these damn pain killers. I don't like feeling brain dead. Aside from those things though, I'm feeling a lot better. I'm getting around a lot better... and am starting to get my appetite back. The surgeon was only able to take out 90% of the tumor, so I'm going to have to go through this one more time... then there is a 30% chance it could re-grow once. If that does happen, and I have to have it removed again, the chances of it re-growing again are very slim... but the chances of this kind of tumor growing in anyone are very slim to begin with. Oy! I have to see a Gynecological Oncologist in a couple of weeks to see what he thinks the best approach to fully removing it would be. There is a pretty good chance they won't have to go through my pelvis again. The remainder is in my groin area... I don't know what that is called on a girl, but if I were a boy, the remainder would be just next to my scrotum. So, they may be able to remove the rest by going in through my inner thigh. This would make my recovery a lot easier... although, walking will probably be very difficult at first. IP: Logged |
