hi ~i found an elaborate and rococo looking sword yesterday...it has different metals in scrolls and inlays in its sheath and handle, and it's quite fun and fantastical. it has the words 'venus goddess' inscribed on the hilt. anyway i gave this sword as a valentine's gift. but after making the gift, i remembered a strong feng shui tenet that cautions never to make a gift of anything in the manner of sharp, pointy items, whether they're knives, scissors, tools or swords...things of that nature. seems it's the equivalent of giving poison arrows, or introducing a 'stabbing' energy into the recipient's life. i hope that i'm describing the effect adequately...it's what i recall about this kind of gift giving...and i've endeavored not to give this sort of gift. i don't know how or why i forgot this time around. anyway, the remedy for this kind of error is for the recipient, in essence, to 'pay' for the gift. to negate the poisonous effects of this type of gift, return a token amount of money to the giver -- just a dollar will suffice. i remembered this concept too late this time, and was embarrassed to ask my gift-givee to give me a dollar for the sword...however, i certainly didn't wish to inflict any ill effects on anyone! if you receive a knife or anything sharp with a cutting or piercing nature as a gift, try to remember to exchange a token amount of money with the giver...so that this energy doesn't have the effect of 'piercing' or 'cutting' into your life... if anyone has any other feng shui remedies related to gift giving, or any other areas, i'd love to know of them! love and good feng shui for everyone ~ salome ------------------ the Soul answers never by words, but by the thing itself that is inquired after. emerson IP: Logged |

Thanks for sharing that peice of feng shui wisdom! I've been using feng shui for a long time...works perfectly. I mainly do things around the home, like corners. Each corner is a trap for energy, it sits there, gets stale, and feels yucky...so I put chimes, crystal and live plants in each corner of the house, anything with movement of life will help. Oh this is important, if you have an ex partner, or if you or the other are still sleeping in the bed you previously shared together, get rid of it! And by another one! For good feng shui make sure you have minimal clutter in the home, and lots of space and surfaces...you can literally close your eyes and feel the energy flow! In the office your back should face the wall, and you should face the center of the room. For a new house buy a new broom, and don't keep too much stuff from the past that you don't need. Sentimental stuff is different. You just don't want old bills/junk/magazines/tv-guides ect... I'll think of more later... ------------------ Wonder of it All

cool info. as for the remedy ,your intent was good (btw what a wonderful gift) so i dont think itll be a prob., you could visualize the sword cutting through stress, obstacles, worry ect. in order to add some additional postive vibes. in reference to gifts, ive read that if you give a purse , you should put a coin in it for prosperity. i use F.S. in my home but i experiment in using my astro. chart as the energy grid. its pretty cool.i also use numerology . on one main wall in my house, the one you can see when you come in the front door, i have 6 large paper circles(love) and 7(dreams/spirit) small paper circles and one big circle mirror(soul)this adds to 14 =5 (intellect). i also have random words like hope and dream placed throughout my home. my hubby had me do his shops too.he says it makes a huge difference. he has words around his work bench like think and skill.
