Hey there Aphrodite!1. Through reading astrological texts in bookshops in town, going to psychic fairs at about 13 or 14. 2. Astrology, tarot. 3. Astrology is OK for general trends, Tarot is better for the "moment". 4. No. Not at all. 5. Erm...yes 6. Jessica Adams is an entertaining writer but not such a good astrologer. Susan Miller and Madalyn Aslan are VERY good. 7. None. (Really.) IP: Logged |

1. When I was sixteen, some of my friends were "into" Wicca, and introduced me to the subject. That was my entry point into the "occult" and the "New Age". From there I branched out into every kind of spiritual and philosophical subject possible. (Wicca itself, by the way, I discarded within a year as too simplistic -- no offense to anyone who finds it a useful practice. )2. The only form of divination I have really studied is the runes. I'd really love to learn the tarot, but never seem to have the time. And at the moment I'm studying predictive astrology, starting with transits. 3. Runes. 4. Yes, I have had several short periods in my life where I've received extrasensory flashes of insight. Most markedly when I was seventeen or so and studying the runes intensely. Since then, I've had a number of predictive dreams and have been learning to recognize what Linda calls the "inner bell" -- slowly but surely. 5. Yes, several times, though at the moment I can only remember the most recent, which had to do with my last girlfriend deciding (out of the blue) to leave me. 6. Linda Goodman (of course), Paul Ferrini, Marie Corelli, Deepak Chopra, Kahlil Gibran, Paul williams... that I can think of right now. 7. I don't know anything about my past lives. Yet. Nice to see you're still around, Aphrodite. Feel free to e-mail me or join me for a chat anytime. ------------------ Every life is a march from innocence, through temptation, to virtue or vice. --Lyman Abbott IP: Logged |

Cool! 1. How did you get started in the occult?Since I can remember, but what really kicked it into gear was Linda Goodman's Star Signs. 2. What forms of divination do you study? Mainly Astrology, and Tarot 3. What's your favorite divination tool to read? (i.e., Tarot, Runes, iChing, Astrology Charts . . . ) Either Tarot or my inner light. 4. Have you had an ESP experience? If so, would you describe? Sensing auras/reading auras/ knowing someones dominant chakra upon meeting, sometimes but not always, and I have this color thing that I can't give a name...I see sparks of light sometimes 5. Have you ever had a dream from sleep come true in real life? YES!!! I dreamed of waking up in a little house by the beach, with a big green lawn infront of the door, this dream happened when I was house hunting with my partner, 2 weeks later I found the house in my dream, everything looked the same, and we were approved within a day, it was fate. 6. Who are your favorite writers in occult topics? Linda, Dawn Hill, Paramahansa Yogananda, Doreen Virtue, Ekhart tole, Kahlil Gibran, just off the top of my head. 7. Share a past life experience N/A ------------------ Wonder of it All

1. How did you get started in the occult? When I was 16 I learned there was more to astrology than sun signs. I got my full chart done and I was hooked from that moment on. 2. What forms of divination do you study? Astrology, Angels and Crystals mainly. 3. What's your favorite divination tool to read? (i.e., Tarot, Runes, iChing, Astrology Charts . . . ) Astrology charts, Angel cards, Pendulum. 4. Have you had an ESP experience? If so, would you describe? Nothing big. Just little things. One quirky thing that happened recently, I was driving at night and I keep a yellow jasper and a piece of jet on my dash (for protection). I was approaching a round-about, no one in sight, but got a sudden voice in my head to reach forward and touch my stones. I tried but my seat belt wouldn't let me reach forward so I slowed down to try again. At that moment, a car driven by joyriders hurtled and crashed into the barrier right in front of me. Reaching for my stones slowed me down and stopped me being on the junction at the time. 5. Have you ever had a dream from sleep come true in real life? No. Though I have amazing dreams, none come true. 6. Who are your favorite writers in occult topics? Linda Goodman and Sasha Fenton were the first I discovered and still favourites. Also Robert Hand, Donna Cunningham and Robert Pelletier. 7. Share a past life experience A psychic artist connected to a life I had lived as a Celt in Wales several hundred years ago. In that life I was a man. I feel 'boyish' inside and I'm quite often male in my dreams so I can readily connect to being male in past lives. Apart from that, I cannot lie on my front with my head turned to the right without feeling as though I'm choking. I see the image of a swinging axe in my head which is awful. I have to lie on my side then the feeling goes away. I get very upset when I hear about executions. Don't know if this is a vague remnant of an unfortunate demise but it feels real in my head and the feeling has been with me since very early childhood. IP: Logged |

Aphrodite, I'm curious to know your answers 1. I was an early teen - my mum is very spiritual so I grew up around a huge library of books on many topics - and I loved reading. 2. Astrology, I Ching. 3. I use my own divintory form, its a cross between I Ching/Astrology - and uses energy cycles to find patterns in energy movement. 4. ESP? Hmm.. Not really. But I would seriously contend that we all possess telepathy on a constant basis, but we simply confuse others thoughts with our own. 5. Ooh yes! I have a lot of dreams that show me signs of the future. 6. Wow, so many great authors and books out there, each has its value, so I wouldnt like to elevate one above another. All I will say is - wisdom is fine thing... but wisdom with humour is a truly great thing! And thats why I like Linda Goodmans style. 7. I don't have any past life memories/experiences. There are two possibiltiies for this; * I was a kettle/teapot in my last life, and this explains my love of tea in this life. * This is my first ever life - which would explain why everything excites me so much! Half of the time I wandering around like, mouth open, eyes wide, thinking 'wow look at that, amazing'.

Thanks for the replies! I find it very interesting that there is a similarity in our experiences. Here's mine: 1. How did you get started in the occult? I was 16 or 17 and a friend in high school gave me a natal chart interpretation. We found it fascinating and started doing charts of some of our classmates. She would read aloud some Sun sign chapters. 2. What forms of divination do you study? Astrology has been a deep love and the one I've invested much time, practice and research on. Tarot is an intuitive study and I've learned a lot on my own or through the threads in The Looking Glass forum. Lately I have been looking more closely at runes, and Angels. Last but not least, the Third Eye, or just "a feeling." 3. What's your favorite divination tool to read? (i.e., Tarot, Runes, iChing, Astrology Charts . . . ) Gosh this is a hard one! It used to be Astrology charts, but I am exploring other possibilities. 4. Have you had an ESP experience? If so, would you describe? Yes, a lot of different ones actually. A common one you all could relate is when I am missing something around the apartment. I am literally clueless as to where it might be! I would get a flash in my mind's eye of where it is, and find it there immediately. I don't go through frustrations of trying to find things anymore. 5. Have you ever had a dream from sleep come true in real life? I rarely remember my dreams. I know I do dream because when I am startled awake, I was dreaming. One dream I found 3 movies for less than $10 each. When I wokd up that day, I went out shopping with my friend and found those very same movies for the same price. 6. Who are your favorite writers in occult topics? I like Linda Goodman because she puts her heart into her work and I continue to learn. I also love reading Rumi's poems. 7. Share a past life experience I have a natural affinity for learning new languages and traveling, as I have had past lives working in business and living in different countries. One was being a British, whom was a business man and scholar living in Asia. Another was as a banker in Italy in the 14th century. IP: Logged |

1. I've always been interested in this topic as long as I can remember, especially after hearing my mother was psychic, reading whatever I could on the subject2. I don't really study any form of divination, but am drawn to Tarot. My favorite deck is Hanson-Roberts. 3. Read #2 4. Yes it happens a lot, I just 'know' things about events and people. 5. Yes a few times, but strangely, never about people very close to me - usually about friends or acquaintances. 6. Sylvia Browne, Sanaya Roman 7. I know I had past lives in Spain, Egypt and the Southern U.S., but can't really remember anything specific. IP: Logged | |
