I think we are actually on the same page.
I'm totally in agreeance that a child and father NEED to have a relationship and that in a divorce situation, as long as abuse isn't an issue, the mother needs to do what is necessary to accomodate that relationship.

I just don't see weaning as one of those things that is necessary in order to accomodate the relationship.
Mother should pump, father should feed child expressed BM.
I think that is the obvious solution and that to order the mother to stop breastfeeding is stupid and ignorant, that's all.

I didn't mean say that a father's relationship is irrelevant. I just meant that the discussion about the importance of the father is somewhat secondary to the discussion I was interested in having, namely how insulting and ignorant this judge was to order weaning in this situation when there was obviously a better course-
Pumping and ordering the father to feed the child mamamilk.
That's all.

I know healthy happy daddies are sssooooo important to healthy happy kids.

no liberal judge in his right mind would order a mother to stop breastfeeding immediately. how do we know this woman isn't lieing without the full story

i agree, dad's have rights too and there is definately MORE to this story.
