Meg and I were recently down in Florida with my Mom and Grandmother...here's one of the resulting pictures: Notice the astonished (or tired...?) look on Meg's face She tried to feed the alligator a Cheerio after we got up IP: Logged |

Adorable child! The gator makes me miss my old iguanna...6ft. and some 30 pounds of lovely grey/green. She was a sweetheart. She ate flowers and greens. And loved classical chamber music. IP: Logged |

Az - Zoozle? Woozle? Something like that - he's actually mine from way back, but Meg seems to have a ove for frogs. In fact, her big thing a few weeks ago was crouching down in the middle of whatever parking lot struck her fancy, saying, "Wabbit! Wabbit!", and hopping about.fayte - We have plenty of Anoles down here (one cute little guy lives in our garden hose ). Not iguanas, but lizards...even sometimes green Thanks, Rainbow! HEY, PIXELP! LIONEYE! I post these things for you chicks! You're the ones ask for more! Where are the replies and the great googly-mooglies?!? I shall harumph and pout until at least one of you responds!

proxieme I used to live in Georgia. They had those cute little Anoles too. I have been trying to catch a blue skink that lives in my rock garden. He is about a foot long. He is so pretty! FINALLY! Pixelp and lioneye make their appearances! *stops pouting* pixelp - Heh, lookit the lady calling people "gorgeous". I've no traction on you, lady juni - What?! He was a cute little thing, honestly, and just as calm as could be. On the girly bull: Can you believe kiddo's 2nd birthday is coming up this Earth Day? Craziness. fayte - I think that our anole's left us Do black widows kill anoles? Sheaa - Thank ya 1scorp - I really think that he was. As I said, he was a sweety, y'know, for a wee gator. Harpyr - I had dirty blonde hair, but nowhere near that light. One of my favorite things to do: Random person - "Wow, what blonde hair! Is your husband blonde?" Me - "No." *stare* I've gotten some great reactions. I think that that hair comes from my dad and his Mom - the former was a true toehead as a child, the latter's still blonde.

lioneye - I do, I really do. I squeeze the beans out of her every chance I get Sometimes out of frustration (one of her new favorite things is pointing at Jase or me and screaming, "NOOOOOOOOOOO!"...I promise we don't do that to her...I don't know why it started), but most of the time it's out of love. She really is just a sweet kid. Like, she comes up and pretends to put suntan lotion on my neck; and she says, "Hello!" and "Good-bye!" to everything ("Good-bye ants!" to the fire ants as we walk down the sidewalk); and she's getting to the age where she likes to "help" with everything. Helping with the silverware her official self-appointed job. So's keeping track of everyone's shoes ("Where's Mommy's shoes? Where's Mommy's socks? Where's Meghan's shoes? Where's Daddy's socks?" and, sometimes for good measure, "Where's Meghan's bellybutton?").What's really impressed me is that she can tell if people are sad or happy just by hearing their voice. She's asked/declared, "Grammy sad," a couple of times when talking to my Mom after she's had a hard day, and Shel Silverstein talking about being eaten by a boa constrictor's almost enough to make her cry in empathy. There's some stress going on with Jase's job, and when Jase's stressed he doesn't sleep well. Which means I don't sleep well, either. So she's come up to me when I've been just worn down, put her arm around me, and said, "Sad...Mommy Sad...Mommy no sad..." followed a couple of times by her skipping around the room saying, "Happ-iiiieee! Happ-ieeeee!" I mean, I try not to show it around her, but she sees through me every time. While part of me feels like I've failed when she's noticed if I'm down or tired, another part's glad that she did. *Edited to add* Yep, re: her height: Last time we checked, she was in the 95th percentile height for her age...and in the 5th for weight, a stringbean like her Mom and Dad were through childhood. They really DO notice when you're not yourself, don't they? And they're so sweet to try to make it better somehow. My daughter never could handle it when I was in a bad mood. Even now, if I'm growchy she wants to sing me songs and give me a massage lol...such a Venusian bull. She does both very well, btw. She's a very talented artist too, with charcoal and paint and photography, song writing, teaching herself how to play instruments....her only bane is that she's a bit chubby. Bit of a liking for the savories, if you know what I mean. Yeah, she's all Taurus, my girl. I love her madly too. She was such an easygoing kid too. Now she's an easy going grown up. (always been as stubborn as all get out - maddening sometimes...that seems contradictory, doesn't it?) IP: Logged |

Yeah, Meg is such a Bull (but I can honestly say that I really notice her Gemini Stellium - Moon, Venus, and Mars - in the 11th and her "LOOK AT ME!!!" Leo Asc...her Aries Merc makes itself known, too...temper, temper).I have a question for you as a Mom of Bully kid: Did you have to watch the music that you listened to around her? I can't listen to anything at all "hard" - she'll come up to me and say, "Meghan saaaaad," or, "Meghan stuck." About the most intense music she'll take is Tom Petty. (She loves "Wildflowers" - I gave that a spin the other day and she spun around saying, "More dance! Meghan more DANCE!") And did your kiddo ever go through an odd "feeling" phase? I mean, I guess this is normal for a Taurus babe, but Meg's been lifting up her shirt and holding it underneath her chin and then feeling things with her stomach. Ex: She took some cereal, laid it on the floor, lifted up her shirt, and then laid on it. After a few seconds, she got up and looked down as if to say, "So, that's what that feels like..."
